  1. It sucks for him, but it's pretty hilarious if they put Ashworth into an untenable situation with us and then only after realized we weren't messing around.
  2. If this had been us in 2022 there'd be a ton of headlines like - "Newcastle's Saudi leaders learning on the fly" and "Saudi's hit with Premier League reality" But for Man United I bet the majority of headlines just go along with these comments and paint us as the unreasonable villain.
  3. What a delicious statement. Clearly under his skin.
  4. "No playmaker in the world can be as good as a good counter-pressing situation.”
  5. Feels like PSG or bust to me (assuming we don't do something insane like sell him to Liverpool).
  6. I'd give no more than a cameo to both.
  7. This is speculation on my part, but I have a feeling the terms in Ashworth’s deal are beyond standard for the position.
  8. This is what I’m most worried about. Probably our two most contentious games in the last year were Arsenal away last season and then at home this season. They hate the way we play and they will feel aggrieved by the last game. They are definitely going to target Bruno. We are really going to miss Joelinton and Pope in this one.
  9. You’ve done this before and I know you’re probably trolling, but come on. Two years ago Man United’s wage bill was more than double Newcastle’s. After you were “hamstrung by FFP” it was reduced to £331m, still £144m more than NUFC’s. Also, since you only like to discuss transfer fees, I’m sure you saw the UEFA report that said Man United had assembled the most expensive squad of all time. Newcastle appeared in that report as well, almost £1 billion pounds behind.
  10. If the internet is to be believed we could double his wages and he’d be on the same as Krafth. Not sure if the likes of Liverpool or Spurs will drive his demands much higher though.
  11. We are also the worst in the league by conceded and xGA since Pope went out.
  12. You know Bruno will get booked for something dumb in the second half too.
  13. Their press seems like it’s leaving acres of space, but we can’t make the pass we need.
  14. That’s because our entire forward line was on the left.
  15. Another promising attack dies with Miggy’s right foot.
  16. I agree, love this quote from Bayern’s president: “We could charge more than £104. Let’s say we charged £300. We’d get £2m more in income, but what’s £2m to us?” “In a transfer discussion, you argue about that sum for five minutes. But the difference between £104 and £300 is huge for the fan. We do not think the fans are like cows, who you milk.” Forget some of the London clubs or Man United. City’s matchday income prior to last season (minus ~10% for all the extra games they consistently play) should be the initial target. That’s another £15-20m from last season.
  17. We also seem to have a pretty sizable number of season ticket holders still on Ashley's 'please don't go' plans and, while I'm happy for any individual benefiting from this, the club really needs to be getting every possible pound out of season tickets.
  18. There is wiggle room whether we qualify for Europe or not assuming we are ok taking the maximum amount of losses in every three year period. I expect us to be very active this summer unless there’s suddenly a concerted effort for the club to be self sufficient, which I’d find surprising and disappointing this quickly.
