  1. No way that handball should have been a pen. The ball was on its way down and the fact it hit his arm had no impact on anything. Commentator needs to shut the fuck up.
  2. You could say that about at least half the teams in this league, although we're much improved in this regard since the new signings.
  3. Going to be a long day if they're running riot down both wings. Tiote's such an idiot.
  4. MYM acceleration is crazy. He just gallops away from people.
  5. I think he'd be kind of wasted as a central striker in a 4-3-3. His tracking back and work rate is a big part of what makes him valuable. Once Hatem slots in for Jonas (this better be the move), it's going to be imperative that he continues that as we'll be missing it on the other side.

Agree with this idea wholeheartedly. The way I watch NUFC games, and I'm sure it's the same for all of you, is entirely different from the way I watch any other teams. As a supporter that watches a team's every game, people notice trends, they know what players are capable of, they pick up on minor traits, and many fixate on (mostly bad) things. I venture to guess that if Danny Simpson played at Fulham or Villa, most people would think he was an average to above-average, serviceable RB. Some on here think that, but others think he's Satan's spawn mainly due to his tendency to back off and his poor final balls while completely ignoring any positive aspects of his game. An even better example, people have already started to point out Sissoko's lack of involvement defending and the occasional carelessness he shows in possession (usually trying to make something happen). Do you think any neutral has noticed this? Likewise, I'm sure Man Utd. fans have complained about aspects of RvP's play this season or that there are Everton fans that have a lot of negative things to say about David Moyes. I'm not saying fans can't judge their teams fairly and effectively, but certain things can definitely get blown out of proportion and the bigger picture is sometimes lost. This is why I love observations about NUFC from some of the neutrals on here.

    Some good stuff here... http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8975707/diego-maradona-now
  8. I'm dying at the thought of Dutch commuters taking slides and picturing what this would be like in NYC.
  9. I'm actually fairly confident this is the only way we'll score from a corner. It will happen eventually and his celebration will be mental. Can't wait. Really hope it's in the derby.
  10. Dear god. I really think some people may have missed just how bad Krul's kicking is, Elliot's kicking is miles better even though its not great Krul's kicking is bad, so Elliot's isn't? How does that work? His distribution is much better than Krul's. I think this will become clear after a few more games.

That's 9 points from 12, plus Europa League progress, since the new signings.
  12. Some minor gripes here and there for the two games this week, but really can't ask for much more. Job done all around with some excellent performances.
  13. Think Cabaye is tired. Put hands on knees a couple times in the last few minutes.
  14. Did I miss something? He stepped up, placed it on the spot and scored. Radio Newcastle said there was a three way discussion and Guti had to decide in the end Jonas for manager.
  15. Can't wait for the gif of Joe Hart's face after saving the pen.
