Same question as before, who would he replace in our XI to get this run of games? Even if he starts out as a bench player I'm pretty sure at some point due to injuries/suspensions/players being sold, etc. he'll get a good run of games. Don't think we really need to be worrying about that.
-
Well, HBA is already injured, everyone says Marveaux could be a crock, and Barton might be gone. I guess we could complain about a little bit of depth though.
-
You'd think we just signed Keith Treacy based on the reactions in here.
-
He clearly has talent, but he's barely played for a few years. Still only 22. Always leery of Fergie's castoffs, but to me this is a little different than someone like Smith or Butt. Seems pretty clear to me that he's been signed as a replacement/upgrade on Routledge.
-
If he misses the Arsenal game because of this I think it would make me angrier than anything that's happened over the last few years.
-
Really sick of him on Twitter. He's like the footballing version of Zach de la Rocha. Just shut the fuck up already.
-
Depends on what his cut is. Hope you're right though. You really think we'd get someone better than Pardew? I shudder to think who his mid-season replacement would be.
-
hope he stays just based on this. That's a pretty misleading stat. He only missed 6 PL games and included in those were draws with Fulham, Chelsea, and Bolton.

I pretty much hate life when polpolpol starts ranting. At the very least I wish I was illiterate.
-
Quite the opposite. It's a bunch of bullshit that's not even worth arguing over.
-
Wasn't Simpson's baby born like 6 weeks early or something? Regardless, that's probably Ashley's fault as well.
-
I don't think this will happen, but what do people think we would do if no one made him an offer? Will he be at training tomorrow or is he on his own now?
-
I'm not one to get too caught up in preseason results, but their defense has to be a concern. 14 goals conceded in less than 4.5 games. Though to be fair, the second one today was a pretty harsh penalty. They also haven't scored since the Asian tour.

Such a dick.
-
And if he walked out on the job he'd be criticized for not having the balls to fight, knew what he was getting into, blah blah blah. Pardew is certainly not to blame here.
-
I think we'll be better than last year, but could easily end up mid-table again. Think we'll be in the 8-12 range as things stand. Would need some good fortune to push for Europe and some horrendously bad luck with injuries to be in any sort of danger.

This surely isn't a response to me? If it is it makes no sense No, it wasn't.
-
Yeah, but things like that are just conveniently ignored when it's a player people like and because everyone hates the clowns in charge.
-
Wouldn't you agree that he was being pretty greedy wanting a new one when he already had a perfectly good one? Sure, he said he was ready to retire here, just like Barton has, but neither is ready to take a pay cut as they get older. Sounds like they want more money if anything, which doesn't benefit the club at all.

Forgetting the hatred for Ashley/Llambias for a second, why did Nolan deserve a new contract? What was wrong with the one he had that had two years left on it?
-
So glad we didn't give him 4 or 5 years. Don't really care how it ended. Players today aren't loyal. They'll leave in an instant for a bigger club or a bigger payday, regardless of where it leaves their current club. So why is the club held to a higher standard when dealing with aging players? I would have been glad to have Nolan for one more year, maybe two, but certainly no more.

Yeah, not sure why everyone is blaming America on this one. The issue seems to be with the UK.

I can't even imagine what this forum would be like if Ashley lost his marbles and bid for Tevez. It's definitely someone less than thrilling and also probably bullshit. If it was close to happening or exciting they wouldn't be sitting on it until Sunday.
