The problem with a draw is we'd be on 4 points with two home games left. We're going to need 11-12 points minimum, so it wouldn't be the end of the world but it would put a lot of pressure on the non-PSG away games and make the other home games must wins.

Looking at the stats their game against Chelsea was basically dead even. Mourinho had only been in the job for 12 days. Could be tricky, but we really need to win.

Maybe play excessive minutes (both games and training) as youngsters? And, if you're being a bit conspiratorial, it's intentional to create the best 18-20 year olds possible so they can sell them?

Had a random thought the other day about how we could try to enact some change in a roundabout way -- what if we put forward a motion to reduce the pool of equal payments each PL club gets and try to make merit payments a more significant percentage? Put more money on the line by league placement where the difference between 8th and 14th really means something and maybe there's a few less happy to here clubs. There's risk for this to backfire of course, but no doubt this would get the attention of 6-7 clubs. Would just need to find four more to get the votes, which we know the red cartel is good at influencing by whatever means. Make our enemies our friends for a change.

I think I disagree with both of you I think TCD is right that their resources give them so many more outs than we have. I agree with you that at some point it would be a problem for them and I don't think they are a certainty to finish ahead of us unless the injuries get worse.
-
Is that what happened? I thought we got nervous about getting Wissa done.

I think the point is they can sustain CL qualification form even if they have an injury crisis that would cripple us. It's October and we're thin at fullback, still only have one proper, senior striker, and we have three CMs we trust in any game. An injury to Woltemade, Tonali, or Bruno and we're in a lot of trouble.

I'm trying not to dwell on it too much, but getting to the CL knockout rounds and also qualifying again would be transformative for both finances and the perception of the club. And I think we're capable of both if we can just keep most of the squad healthy.

Forest run so much through him that it inflates some stats, but we really gave up some player. Touches, progressive passes, and passes into final third are all first in the PL. Shot creating actions and carrying distance are 2nd. Tackles won, shot creating actions/90, and goal creating actions are top 10.

The great 5 clean sheets in 7 (1st in the PL) 3.29 defensive actions outside the penalty area/90 (1st by a wide margin and higher than normal for Pope) 19% of crosses stopped (1st, also by a wide margin) 17.8 yard avg. distance of all defensive actions (3rd highest behind Arsenal and Everton) The good +1.1 post shot expected goals plus/minus (6th) The best thing here is that we're second in the league in post shot expected goals (Arsenal first). We just aren't conceding a lot of good chances. 51 throws (1st; putting this in good as it's a nice way to avoid his feet) The bad 19% launched pass (over 40 yards) completion percentage (dead last; Pickford first at 39% for reference) 157 passes attempted (third fewest) 67% of goal kicks launched (over 40 yards) (5th most) and

Joe would probably benefit from a few less games and a little competition for his place too.
