  1. Would far prefer a draw than a big Villa win for our sake. Leave the maulings to Madrid and City.

    Overrated players

Ben Arfa provided hope and dreams at a time when there was nothing to be hopeful about. Ben Arfa in a different era may have been overrated. Ben Arfa in the time he was here was everything.
  3. Bruno is #7 on ESPN's top 50 players of the season so far: https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/46785166/premier-league-top-50-ranked-best-players-2025-26-season-liverpool-arsenal-man-united Tonali is way too low but he does say this: As always, this is biased toward players who do things that are quantifiable -- there is a lot that happens on the field that we still can't count, but I'm more likely to be wrong by chasing after them too aggressively -- but it's also not a purely data-based list.
  4. Arsenal were already top 8 in the world in revenue and firmly part of the Big 6 and then had the single highest % revenue growth of any club in Europe between 2022/23 and 2023/24. We're on a good track, but I think it's fair to say that so far we've made more progress pulling away from the other 13 (or 12 if you put Villa with us) than gaining on the six ahead. It's a long road that would honestly feel insurmountable without Eddie.
  5. Anyone talking about football related things is missing the point unless you're hoping for a one-off Leicester type season. The conclusion from Swiss Ramble's post today is really everything: There should be zero expectations of a PL title challenge unless/until we establish that there is now a Big Financial 7.
  6. Yeah, I had something similar after our last accounts came out:
  7. 1) Keep Eddie Howe as manager as long as possible 2) Increase revenues every season at a pace that is equal to or faster than the six clubs above us (this is harder as you get closer) 3) Continue to recruit new players with almost zero mistakes (this is very hard and still probably not praised enough; though more revenue slightly increases margin for error) 4) Create the best academy outside of Manchester and London to produce both players and profit 5) Qualify for the Champions League as consistently as possible (which benefits both #2 and #3) 6) Patience ... 7) Pay for a statue for Sir Edward
  8. From a Liverpool forum theorizing about potential candidates if Slot has to go: Glasner - "not Liverpool calibre" Emery - "wouldn't leave Villa" (not so sure about that -- wouldn't hate it as feel like it could end in tears on both sides) Alonso - "maybe he'll be sick of Madrid" Enrique - "has to be the first call to see if he's tired of winning everything in Paris"
  9. Their next three games are massive. I don't really want Villa to take three points off of them so a dull draw will do and then I hope they get absolutely torn apart by Madrid and City. They will be in full blown crisis if that happens.
  10. Last season against the bottom 6 we won all 12 games by an aggregate scored of 33-5.

    Yoane Wissa

It's in our best interest to make it clear he's not ready to play prior to Nov. 13.
  12. Home. Don’t care who. This game will be in between the derby and Chelsea.
  13. He's not. His confidence is clearly low though.
  14. They started poorly, but some very nice play from them in the last 20 minutes. It's a weird one where I feel like we could be out of sight and yet we're also probably fortunate to be ahead.
  15. Annoying we didn't score from open play. I feel like we're going to end up having to use Bruno, Trippier, Joelinton, and Gordon.
  16. At the moment if someone told me Richarlison was paid to throw this game I'd be forced to believe it.
  17. I think he's been better than he's been recently, which is still far from good enough.
