I'm pleased about this. Would like someone with a bit more experience in there for the first team like but experience isn't everything. With him, Hayden, Shelvey and another strong box to box CM I think we'd be well covered for CM.
Depends if anyone else tries to make a flag or do anything positive in the stadium that they've not vetted and authorised as the Kings.
Please don't confuse GF with the views of only one or two of it's members. A fair few weren't happy about the way the Tiote scenario panned out on Twitter.
Why ? He was totally disinterested at Sunderland and frankly a big part of their problems last season. He may have been great for them for a 3 month or so period when he signed but frankly like Khazari has shown little to no desire to stick with that club in the long term and do what you would expect of any professional. To me there are character concerns here that you can't just write off as "because he's playing for that shithole".
Most if not all players are mercenaries these days so he'd be no different. You do raise good points though. Just thought he'd be attainable and arguably a step up on our current options. I didn't really pay all that much attention to the Premier league last year though. It's irrelevant unless we're in it.
I think it could have been if it was another manager but don't think Benitez would be that wasteful. Why waste £4million for no reason other than to spite your boss? That'd ultimately not help you in the long run either. Or was this post said in jest?
Seems to me that Rafa has cut his cloth accordingly removing squad players of relegation / championship level quality (in his eyes) eho are also a tad older and replacing them with young lads who may have the potential to get better, who also have experience at top level. No major moves in the market for us yet but he's building a squad slow and steady without spending all that much. If we spend say £40million on two first team players at CM and #9/#10 then overall it's been an acceptable window
