  1. Level of achievement has to be looked at but the way our club is at the mo, I honestly believe we need to make an impact appointment, someone who will get everybody excited and get the team playing a good style of football! After the disaster that was the fat1, we all need a lift (none more so than you local lads who have had to endure every minute of the drivel that has been served up this season!)
  2. Well is it on anywhere lads? Not on bbc (twats!) but my local over here in norn iron has that foreign(think its Italian!) sky crap in, is it on it?
  3. I'd have Fred signed up on a deal personally, crakcer player and the ideal foil for Owe/martins, plus his arrival may well give Vids a kick up the arse! Tiago would be an ideal oan signing but seems he is really unhappy at Juve and needs a quick fix to get outta there! For the right money again I feel would be a good signing, especially given our current centre mid status! give them 4mil for Tiago and 8 for Fred and let the revolution roll!
  4. With all the work he put in helping develop Clairefontaine I think Houllier would be perfect for the criteria the club have set. I can see him running the club and Shearer taking charge on the training ground everyday, that's if they work together that is. But what about the style of play?! Did you guys not watch Houllier's Liverpool team?! Houllier's Lyon looked brilliant though. no. Le Guen's Lyon looked brilliant and Houllier inherited that. So Houillers Liverpool won the Champions league, Benitez inherited that?
  5. would far prefer Defoe and he would come at a cheaper price!
  6. This is a big decision time for all of us. Do we want the initial impact of say: a shearer/Keegan combo, and all the hysteria it would bring? It may or may not even give us an improvement on the pitch but as stated on here already, would bring an element of patience to procedings! Or do we want the long, assured stability process which Houllier would bring? Just spoke to my scouse mate about this and he ran through his time at Liverpool and the pros and cons of houllier. He said Houliier started from the back, built his famous defensive triangle in Hyypia, Henchoz and Hamann. He also cleared out the spice boys. he finished 4th, 3rd, and 2nd building a strong defensive unit. It was summer 02 when he was supposed to bring in the flair players but Diouf and all did not work(hindsight is a wonderful thing!) My mate says he brought Carragher and Gerrard on leeps and bounds, both of which stil speak so highly of the man. He also built his team to play to owens strengths, with a big target man beside him (Heskey) who also scored 20 goals in his first season. (Vids, Smudge, Shola or even Andy C?) Yes he made mistakes in the transfer window but I would be happy to see him make the same mistakes with us and win six trophies whilst finishing in the top4 consistently! PS: There were rumours of his ego being quite big, silly stories about subbing Camara when the Kop sang his name and stuff, plus the fact his 'partnership' with Evans didn't work, sorta makes me think the Shearer element might not be feasable!
  7. Houlier will do me very nicely! He is not managing a club atm and all signs seem to be he would take it! He is really well respected in the game and has previous experience of managing a massive, demanding club in England! Couple that with his astute tactics and his excellent knowledge of European football(would have a good scouting sytstem and players will want to play for him ala sven!) and I think we have the perfect candidate for the job! the revolution starts here, VIVE LE REVOLUTION!
  8. Lovin the romanticism of that post, fook it I believe you!
  9. Would be great to actually be able to get excited about our latest signing, Owen must have been the last time I actually felt 'yes, heres a player I'm gonna enjoy watching in the black and white!'
  10. but why not, this is my gripe! To dump the fat one in such a fashion we surely had to have a target in place, if this target is 'Arry, why have we not moved for him?
  11. it's 'Arry for gawd sake, he's a cert to bring it at least 3 - 5 players this month! Diarra's bound to be one as Pompy have been monitoring his situation as well, plus we need a decent defender in to steady the ship and of course theres the obvious need for an attacking/creative midfielder! (&a pacey right winger while we're being greedy!) This crap about our strikers being good, BALLS! Big vids just hasn't looked good for us, albeit with poor service, we all know the story with owen and its 'grinding my gears' to be honest! If a bid came in I'd take it, although you just know as soon as he left us he would stay injury free the rest of his career and score bagfulls! Shola needs to go and Oba is just not consistent enough, as with Smudge! So I feel we do need at least one new forward, whilst getting rid of a couple too! Ideally it would go something like this... Ooot: Ameobi/Owen/Viduka In: Fred/Defoe/Crouch
  12. Ashton for 6 would be a fair shout! Crouch would cost 10 mil I'd expect but would be well worth it IMO, especially if we could get in some dough for Viduka or Ameobi! Campbell I could see coming yes, Utaka anyone for right wing?
  13. Diarra Crouch Arshavin Good times!
  14. Since Sam put the worlds most unattractive brand of hoafball on us I have been wanting Jol to come! I feel he is ideal for us, plays attractive football with out and out wingers, loves pacey football to be played on the ground and his transfer record is good, he brought Berbatov to the prem, Lennon from Leeds for 1mil, and a wealth of young British players for the future! Plus he would have a major point to prove, not only to spuds directors but English football as a whole! GET JOL IN NOW!
