In fairness to Gosling, he really looks like he's got himself in shape since being injured - looks like an absolute beast in some of the training photos. It's very easy to see Gosling as a 'new signing' but for good reason; he looks to have that predator-like knack around goal that Nolan had but with more muscle and a better engine. I think he'll have a big role next season as well.

Defoe's a limited player but let's not kid ourselves, he's a significant improvement on what we currently have.

He works the channels well against shocking defenders. Didn't he beat the Man Utd offside trap a couple of seasons ago to score at St James'? Being that the case, would you call Vidic and Ferdinand "shocking defenders"?

I like Ryan Taylor. His general play is nothing special but he's arguably been one of our most productive players this season in the amount of games he's played. Miles better at right back than Simpson in my opinion. If we were to sell anyone, I'd be tempted to get rid of Smith and Best, maybe Barton as well before he inevitably crocks a few games into the new season.

As long as we beat Ipswich and Plymouth (which I think we will), then the title is as good as ours imo - West Brom wouldn't be able to overtake us even if they win all their remaining games. Not saying that we should just write this game off but a defeat wouldn't be disasterous.
