  1. I think we got some goldfish posting, can only remember the one foot he put wrong late on when tired and not the other 120 mins of very competent stuff. Exactly, his normal dependable self. Ratings: Given 7 Positioning was awful for the Coventry's second, a few errors but other than that he was solid. Beye 7 Solid, dependable defending Bassong 7 Looked strong throughout, very good for his debut Coloccini 7 Got beat in the air for their second and slipped on their first, but that was more an error on Butt's part anyway Enrique 8 A few minor mistakes at the back but other than that very solid and a fantatic ball for Owen's goal Geremi 4 Words can not describe how absolutely cack he was. Butt 5 First half good, apart from the error for Morrison's goal, Second half god awful Guthrie 7 1 misplaced pass in the entire game that I can recall, says it all tbh Jonas 7 Very dangerous going forward, superb pass to Milner to set up the first. N'Zogbia 8 Was effective throughout, caused them alsorts of problems with his pace. Milner 9 Don't know why so many have been keen to get rid of him, pace is nowt without ball control and passing and Milner has both of these in abundance. Owen 8 1 shot, 1 goal nuff said.
  2. Don't know what people are on about with Beye to be honest, he put one foot wrong throughout the game, looked alright to me.

    Andy Gray

Great for post match analysis, really starting to annoy me as a co-commentator, however.
  4. Glad we finally got this done, will he play on Sunday?

According to Spurs' OS, there are 13 British players in the first team squad. There would have been 14 earlier in the day but Gardner has now gone. According to Newcastle's OS, there are 9 British players in the first team squad. Add Guthrie to that, 10 in total. And how many of them came through your youth system? why does that matter? 1 if you really want to know. Well the point was made about English players, now you clame you have more than us, and yet they have all come from other teams. Lennon, Huddlestone, Bostock etc. Therefore your not really producing them just reaping the benefits of other smaller teams, whereas Newcastle a fair few which saw first team action Huntington, Taylor, Edgar, Ramage etc. Actually came through our ranks and if you were to look at our actual full squad list there is five or six more youth players that have come through and are in the squad.

  8. I'd cream, I love false hope.
  9. More paper bollocks, Keegan likes him as a player, and we need all the attacking falir we can get. He looked pretty good on Saturday too.
  10. Martins Owen Duff Gutierrez Guthrie Milner Enrique Colloccini Faye Beye Given
  11. I could see us sneaking a draw at best maybe, without Jonas/Colloccini/Owen there's no chance, with two of them playing, I would be more confident.
  12. There were alot of dropped points last season in close games, which many people seem to forget. E.g Boro Home and Away Derby Home (Ok, I know we were awful ) and Chelsea away when we got robbed there, games like that make a difference when it comes to final standings. However, hindsight doesn't exist in the press.
  13. I'd like to see him on the bench, and have us go with the same formation we did against Valencia, as long as Jonas is registered in time I think in that formation him, Milner and Duff can cause them problems. If not I'd like to see Owen start and us go 4-4-2 just so we don't get killed down the flanks.
  14. Duff and Milner have played very well in pre-season, and I guess Jonas could play up front if need be, here's hoping we don't suffer any long injuries, I think we should have some new signings in soon, so hopefully we can sell him, as he obviously isn't up to Premier League standars, Championship level would suit him tbf, as for the new lads you mentioned I guess that's an arguement for the constant old board v new board debate that keeps occuring on here. Under Shepherd, I would have been petrified at the prospect of young strikers having to fill in, but now we have players like Danquah, Donaldson is a local lad anyway, and I'm really excited to see this Zamblera lad, our youth policy should reap some rewards in the long run.
  15. Can we really afford to be selling players now? I mean now Shola has plenty of people in front of him, but Martins and Owen don't exactly have clean injury records, if they were to get hurt we would be back down to just Smith again if we sold Ameobi. Personally I'd rather wait see what happens with players coming in this week, before selling player which gives us depth, all be it below average depth.
  16. Like a 4-4-1-1 Martins Duff Guiterrez Guthrie Butt Milner N'Zog Taylor Cacapa Beye Given
  17. Would that be the train from Newcastle to Birmingham New Street cos I couldn't breathe on that was absolutely rammed.
  18. Pretty Good game only just got home. Player Ratings Given- 6 Didn't have much to do. Beye- 6 Linked up well with Milner, still looks a little short of fitness Cacapa- 6 Shaky at times, but overall solid Taylor- 7 Good solid game N'Zogbia- 6 Played well down the left with Gutierrez, clearly not a left back but did well enough Milner-8 Played very well down the wing actually got some decent delievery in and showed up the full backs from time to time, but missed a sitter in the first half. Took his goal well. Butt- 5 Should have buried the header in the first half, apart from that average Guthrie- 6 Solid enough, bit sloppy with his passing today Gutierrez- 8 Gets all over the park, great cross for the header which rebounded to Milner for the win has great upper body strength, ball control and can run all day Duff- 7 Actually beat his man for once could have had more than one goal Martins- 6 Good Shift, may not be up to fitness quite yet, still caused Valencia problems. Subs: Edgar-5 Bassong-5 Smith- 6 (Actually held the ball up once, and had an attempt on target.
  19. I'm going by myself and I live in Bradford, if it's free I'm going.

    Old New Third Kit

I like it, definate purchase, to be honest I'd buy it even if it were awful.
  21. You cannot help but admire this man's spirit, a true legend.
  22. We need two decent full backs, or I'd like to see us get Burdisso in from Inter then Faye can cover RB and Taylor can fuck off to the bench
  23. To be fair if we ended up with Colloccini and Bassong I'd be very happy.
  24. That sig scared the shit outta me
