Still a 5 good performance yesterday. Stoke away is massive.
-
Nonsense he has been consistently dreadful all season I've heard people continuously excuse him despite him costing our team what is a quite staggering amount of goals. Surely his performance against Liverpool still sticks in people's minds no...? that 1 v 5 lost was unbearable I've been disgusted by performances at St James Park before but never have I been more disgusted at such a gutless and dismal performance in a Black and White shirt before as Coloccini put in that day at fault for the 2nd goal, 3rd and for the 4th he should of been hurled off for alone. Quite staggering really the amount of goals he has cost us this season here just few off of that long list - - Stoke Home 1st goal at fault turned and out paced by Ricardo Fuller... Bolton Away at fault for the only goal failed to spot the danger and come across to defend the ball in left Gardner completely free... Sunderland Home 1st goal far to deep then decided to try and play Cisse offside clueless idiot... West Brom Home at fault for 1st goal pulled to pieces by Ismeal Miller... Everton Away failed to mark his zone on the areal ball to let Falliani free to score... Fulham Away at fault for the second goal his reckless lunging tackle on Johnson gave away a easily preventable penalty... West Ham Away 1st goal at fault completely lost Craig Bellamy run I'll let him off the 2nd although arguably his fault also.. Blackburn Home dreadful marking on Santa Cruz for the second headed goal... Hull City Home at fault second goal turned by Marlon bloody King... Manchester United Home at fault for 1st goal far too tight on Wayne Rooney... West Ham Away at fault for third goal cowardly turned his back on Di Michele shot... and that isn't even all of them.................. For me his performances away at Chelsea, Boro and Manchester United were possible his only decent or good (if your kind) performances all season and at £10 million that's not good enough. Quite rightly ousted from the Argentinian National Squad in recent months... Cannot stand the bloke.. You're taking the piss on that Bolton one surely, that all came from Taylor and Butt not tracking Gardner's run.

5 Anyone in the bottom half could go down. If we could get some points off Arsenal and Chelsea that would really help our confidence. April is crunch time Stoke and Spurs Away then Pompey at home. Got to be looking for maximum points there.
-
We'll win 1-0 that's my optimistic prediction. Realistically I think we'll draw 1-1, fact is Arsenal haven't won at St James' since that Bergkamp goal and Wenger hates playing us away.
-
I think we'll win this, with players coming back and Owen at least on the bench I can see us going 1-0 up and Owen sealing it late on.
-
All down to coaching, I remember Bobby's last full season as Manager Bramble had a very good year, then he regresses under Souness. He's in a good environment at Wigan and Bruce has shown faith in him, his confidence will be sky high.

I hate teams like Arsenal having streams of 0-0 games just prior to meeting us. If any team needs to break a duck, just wait until the Toon come along - look at Bolton and their clean sheet record before today. Fulham is in no way an easy game the way they are playing. Good point, however Arsenal at home is a fixture that never scares me unlike Man U and Chelsea they don't seem to be able to deal with physical teams if we get stuck in, I can see us winning. Fulham won't be easy but home advantage is as always a big factor. In the league we have only lost 3 times at home (Hull, Blackburn, Liverpool) our away form and too many draws is why we are where we are.

I think the Leeds situation is different to ours, Leeds' collapse was more to do with business and Risdale gambling the club's future. Financially Ashley has made us more stable. You make an interesting point about the players, relegation would obviously mean a clearout, but if we stay up (I think we will) then there has to be a permanent decision at manager (quicktime) and an evaluation of every player. There is a lot of deadwood at this football club that needs shifting.
-
3-1 Man U, I doubt they will destroy us, can see us battling for a bit then them having that extra quality to wrap it up.
-
4 its tight, but we have to play Boro, Pompey and Fulham all at home, plenty of winnable games left. I have a real gut feeling we'll beat Arsenal.

Went to the game, First Half I thought we were alright created some chances and never realy looked threatened. What was disappointing was an utter lack of creativity from anyone other than Jonas (can't believe he's getting stick) after we conceded. Don't know who was meant to be tracking Gardener for their goal. Stonewall pen we should have had as well. Harper 6 - Didn't do anything wrong S.Taylor 5 - Poor today, all over the place in terms of positioning left Lovenkrands exposed a lot. Bassong 7 - Only thing is his lack of pace, but he's our most consistent player at the minute. Coloccini 6 - Solid. Enrique 5 - A lot of effort going forward not much end product, suspect defensively today. R.Taylor 5 - Poor, hit and miss with corners, didn't offer much in open play. Butt 6 - Actually think he did ok for once. Jonas 7 - Biggest threat, just needs that killer final ball. Lovenkrands 5 - Ineffective. Martins 6 - Lots of effort, had a few chances, no idea why he was taken off. Ameobi 6 - Ok, still not very good on the ball, but was dangerous in the closing stages. Subs Geremi 6 - Solid. Viduka 5 - Did ok holding the ball up I guess offered little else. No one was shockingly bad, it was a game where we didn't create enough to win, but certainly didn't deserve to lose.
-
Totally agree Seconded, I really would like to smack Jamie Redknapp.
-
4 for me, it's tight but with Oba coming back and a few more new faces I think we can start picking up some points.
-
Another Centre back wouldn't be bad like.
-
Had a very good game today, clearly better at RB than CB. With Ryan Taylor coming in what it does give us is actual cover at full back and a bit of versatility. Both Taylor's can play on both sides and Geremi can play RB as well as emergency cover. Enrique should have the LB spot locked up after today's performance.
-
You make some good points. Most notably with your avatar. Agreed, Martins terrifies defenders. If we have him back for West Brom we will be a lot more confident going forward with him and Jonas on the attack.
-
Well done to Shola on the penalty, kept his nerve perfect right down the middle.
-
Harper 7 Taylor 7 Coloccini 6 Bassong 8 Enrique 8 Duff 5 Nolan 6 Butt 4 Jonas 8 Carroll 7 Ameobi 7 Overall, I'm content. We were up for it and the fight was there even in the First Half. Second Half we were fantastic and probably should have won it. Jonas caused them problems all day he just needs to work on his final ball. No one can tell me Enrique is a bad footballer the lad was outstanding today. Both Carroll and Ameobi played well and won battles in the air. Bassong was his usual brilliant self and Coloccini was solid apart from his mistake on their goal. Nolan had a decent game, and did extremely well in clearing the ball off the line. Well done to Taylor for winning that penalty as well. Butt, however is terrible, he's strong in the tackle but his passing is just god awful, Duff did ok, but again the end product was missing. Play like we did second half for a full 90 and we'll shit all over West Brom. Kinnear just needs to get it into the players heads that in a relegation battle you have to approach every game like its a derby.
-
Fuck, Nolan and Butt in the centre then.
-
4-4-2 Harper Taylor Bassong Coloccini Enrique Jonas Nolan Geremi Duff Carroll Xisco/Lovenkrands Having said that Kinnear will probably stick Coloccini in the midfield again with Nolan, and play Edgar at Right Back. Wouldn't shock me to see Jonas or Duff up front. 2-1 us.
-
I because shitty little us are really going to hold them to ransom & get a deal like that. Won't happen I know, but really that's what we should be looking to do. If Craig Gordon goes for £10m then Shay is worth £20m +
-
£12m + Onouha and Johnson is what we should demand. Hold them to ransom.
-
Our favourite scoreline... 2-2
