  1. To be fair to Hughton, I think LuaLua would have replaced Gezza at some point were it not for the fact we had to use up a sub to remove Simpson after his injury.
  2. I want LuaLua to have a good game above all else, gives Hughton an excuse to play him wide right instead of putting a CM there.
  3. GK: Krul RB: Tavernier CB: S.Taylor CB: Tozer LB: Kadar RM: LuaLua CM: Butt CM: Donaldson LM: Guthrie ST: Ranger ST: Lovenkrands Subs: Soderberg, Baheng, Vuckic, Barton, Coloccini, Inman, Ferguson
  4. I'm astounded we didn't follow our recipe from the last however many seasons: naff team in first cup game, PL team and defeat in the second.

No Vuckic... should get a seat on the bench at the least tomorrow night

    Marlon Harewood

Aye, but there's a montage of Kevin Lisbie that makes him look fucking prolific.
  7. After the hour? He was hunched over after about 20 mins on Saturday. After the teams came out of the tunnel, he sprinted over to the Gallowgate and applauded, and then breathed in and out heavily several times.
  8. I don't know how Nolan has played 90 minutes so many times. He's blowing out of his arse not long after the hour, baffling how he doesn't get subbed
  9. Starts for Kadar, Krul, LuaLua and Ranger please. Bench cameos for Vuckic, and maybe Donaldson or Baheng if we can afford to.
  10. I don't have a clue what fraser is on about here, not a bladdy clue.
  11. He made three changes from the team beaten by Blackpool; this included dropping Butt. Which big players is he accommodating? Nolan. He could play 4-4-2 and accommodate Nolan. What he did was play 4-5-1 or 4-4-1-1 (imo it was 4-5-1) for 60 minutes and then made the changes that got the win; can't see much wrong with that. And why did he play 4-5-1? To accomodate 'senior pro' Kev, opposed to starting a proper striker in Ranger and going 4-4-2 from the outset.

How is that old school btw? You can be quite the annoying little twerp can't you.
  14. Agree. I'm not part of the Ranger wankwagon but I think at the moment, he should partner Carroll. I agree that Lovenkrands is better as a striker but we have literally no-one else for the left hand side without wasting a central midfielder out there.
  15. No. It was a very below-par performance, with shit tactical nous as the formation up top was woeful, that was rescued by Hughton finally realising that 4-4-2 > 4-5-1 at home.

    Nile Ranger

As things stand he should definetely start the Carling Cup game on Tuesday night alongside either Carroll or Lovenkrands.
  17. I thought they were pretty ordinary myself. Yes, but still won 3-0, allthough the ref fucked spurs Correct decision not to give the penalty to Keane IMO. Yes, there was contact, but it was an obvious dive from him. Not to mention he's an odious little twat who has the head of a 40-year old on the body of a 20-year old. And he plays for Spurs. wp ref.
  18. I was in the Gallowgate (upper) and although I could hardly see either, it was quite obvious that he had loads of space to get the header in.
  19. Didn't Kinnear say that he was injured in the famous "insomnia" press conference?
  20. If people stop listening to what the likes of Lawrenson says about Coloccini and actually watch him, you can see that he's a good player (albeit not in the £10m bracket). Yesterday he showed far better aerial ability than he had last season, every header he won was at the right time and he got the balance right between just heading it out for a corner or throw in and heading it to the keeper or another team mate.
  21. Total drivel, what a f***ing stupid thing to say. Way too early to say, but if he's as good as the Dutch seem to rate him, he should be quality. There's no way that in two years he'll be as good as Given in his prime, let alone twice as good.
