  1. I'm happy to stay upfront, partially cos I'm useless anywhere else. Although if anyone's desperate to play there or we want to keep it tight first half I'm happy to play in a central midfield three.
  2. BRILLIANT thread, can't say I'm surprised when I look at who started it.
  3. To be fair, Ronaldo was kept quiet by David Edgar in the 2-2 draw. Then he destroyed Beye in the 1-5 loss. Depends whether he fancies it or not.
  4. Has certainly come of age. Just goes to show when you stick with a player and leave them to integrate into the team, it can reap dividends. That's why he was never any good under Allardyce, in one week then out for three. He started to show glimpses in the KK 4-3-3, again when he played every game. If he can sustain this sort of form then he'll be money well spent in the long term. I know Anichebe isn't the greatest forward in the world put Enrique had him in his pocket.
  5. Agree he continues to impress me its a shame his "International" partner continues to put in performances of such poor standard. That's an over the top criticism of Colo. He's had a few shaky games, and even a shocker (Liverpool) but today his performance was more than adequate, I'd say he was pretty good. He did nowt wrong.
  6. That's a disgrace if they've given Bassong a 6.

Put in a tremendous shift today, but why was he still bombing on in the 88th minute? Surely by then you sit back and make sure we don't lose the game? Butt or someone should have told him to stay back.

Stick with my five. The next three games are huge.

Played well enough today I thought, need to consider him primarily a RB now.
  10. The team I'd pick vs Bolton: Harper Saylor Colo Bassong Enrique Raylor Butt Smith Gutierrez Martins Viduka Forster, Cacapa, Carroll, Lovenkrands, Duff, Geremi, LuaLua
  11. From the bits of the game I saw and partially the radio: Harper 6 - did what he had to Saylor 7 - bombed forward, but probably a bit much towards to the end Colo 6.5 - no complaints, dealt with threat well in the most part Bassong 8 - rock at the back Enrique 8 - had a great game, one excellent cross in particular Duff 5 - maintains record of not having one good game after the other Nolan 5 - offered little before horrific tackle Butt 6.5 - had a good game by his standards Raylor 7 - full of industry Shola 4.5 - rotten Lovenkrands 5.5 - ran his socks off, missed sitter, faded badly towards the end SUBS Jonas 6.5 - did well enough Martins 6 - did alright in spells Smith 5.5 - the fact he didn't manage any fuckups get him a mark above 5! EDIT: Hughton 7 Full marks for the subs, even Smith, although loses points for not dropping Shola.
  12. I have a lot more faith in Chris Hughton now than I did 10 minutes ago.
  13. At least Hughton has the guts to try something different while it can still change the game. Fair play.
  14. Shola simply has to come off, bring on Martins, and play Lovenkrands in midfield. Would be the best change we could make.
  15. For Gods' sake, he didn't need to make that tackle. Everyone (me included) whinging about Cattermole yesterday, that was far worse.
  16. Simply has to be Shola off and a midfielder on at HT. Has to be. That way we have the chance to salvage a draw.
  17. For christs sake, we've thrown away any chance of winning the game.
  18. This game is there for us to win - if we make a change between 45-60 minutes we could easily win this. Easily.
  19. What a technically excellent diving header that is from Nolan. Butt not doing bad for once
