    Who would you let go?

Forgot about Xisco...he can fuck off as well on what 50k a week? Him and Smith leaving takes a huge chunk off the wage bill. I disagree about loans for the younger lads. For the season we are going to have they need to be training with the 1st team squad regularly and will be needed quite a bit i would imagine. We won't need them all at the same time. Sending them out for a month/three months at a time can only be good; particularly if we can have recall options.

    Who would you let go?

Smith, Kadar and Lovenkrands are already out the door, I would have said them. Otherwise, only really Simpson, Xisco and Obertan. Ranger, Harper and Forster I'm a bit indifferent about. Elliot, Vuckic, Abeid, Sammy and Shane need loans, even if they're just short-term ones. Guthrie will probably go but I'd like to keep him, ideally. Also hope we keep Tavernier.
  4. Pards signings off the top of my head: Hatem Ben Arfa (~£5m) Stephen Ireland (loan) Shefki Kuqi (free) Yohan Cabaye (~£4m) Demba Ba (free/~£2m agent fee) Medhi Abeid (free) Gabriel Obertan (£2m) Sylvain Marveaux (free) Rob Elliot (£500,000) Davide Santon (£5m) Papiss Cisse (£~9m)
  5. I can't wait til Gareth Barry retires from football.
  6. This method might save you time just hook it to my veins
  7. A few years ago you could have just had two rules: down your drink when the song is shit, down your drink when Wogan says "they all just block vote for each other anyway/it's rigged". Would have been hammered.
  8. Is Klose going to the Euros? I might have a flutter on him to be top scorer e/w as an outside.
  9. I have an Angola shirt, which I wear with pride. I just love dem Black Antelopes so bad. I guess this makes us African Enemies.
  10. I agree absolutely on Carrick. Definitely not on Johnson - much as I think I rate him, he's started how many games this season? He doesn't even make the bench for City any more, couldn't justify picking him. Richards I'm not sure about. He lost his place due to injury and was kept out by Zabaleta's brilliant form but he's (apparently) a terrible trainer and noticeably poor at following instructions. He's great to watch as a fan but I can see why managers don't like him. I think Smalling may have got picked for the squad and played at right-back were he fit, tbh. Having said that, I'd have taken Richards to the tournament, but with no real idea who I'd choose as a starting right-back. Richards might well have ironed out those issues in his game by the time WC2014 comes around and he could have done with the tourney practice.
  11. Doesn't make the bench for City, Asked to be ignored if he wasn't first choice, all the fans love him but relentlessly ignored by international managers and reputed to be an awful trainer. Played how many games this season? And the last was when? First one asked not to be considered and the second is awful. I'm not trying to say I know better than any of the people I've quoted (I almost certainly don't), just trying to point out that it's basically a tallest dwarf competition when talking about who should have been picked. We may well be dump in this tournament but that's no reflection on Roy, I just dread the shitstorm he's going to get not just from the media but also from your average idiot in the pub who thinks the only reason we haven't won the tournament is because we took the wrong 3rd choice left winger. I've articulated this very badly but a lot of things irritate me about the England team, mostly their "fans" (particularly those who stop becoming interested when they don't think they'll win the tournament) and the media. That's a really good post. My grievance is that the likes of Downing are never going to be any good (he was shit when Sven picked him in 2006) and we should be giving the 'tournament experience', even if that only amounts to one or two sub cameos, to someone who has the potential to be more useful than he is currently.
  12. Would quite like us to sign Kalou, his goal record at Chelsea is very good and I think he'd score quite a few if he got regular game time in a good team.
  13. Should just get the two managers and their coaching staff to have a battle royale
