Funnily enough, didn't we get back what we paid for the first two and make a profit on Geremi, transfer fee wise?
  2. Why would they agree to loan out Higuain, at all?
  3. Worth pointing out that in that match, it was our Championship side that began the game, with Perch in for Simpson.
  4. I'd like to see Shola sit this one out. Ba should either be partnered by Best or supported by Vuckic for the most part.
  5. I'm sure a West Ham fan that someone knew (might have been HTT) said that Pardew had this weird knack of playing carpet football one week and then inexplicably reverting to hoofball the following week for absolutely no reason.
  6. neesy criticises the players for saying things that they shouldn't on twitter, and then goes on himself telling the players that they're wankers and to fuck off etc http://nocompromiseleadership.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/double-standard-2.jpg?w=200&h=231

exactly, that's what I was trying to intimate. Pardew's just about getting some of the fans on side - a defeat on Wearside and he'll undo all of that in 90 minutes flat. What happens if we win those two games, though? We'll be headed for Europe. It doesn't work like that though, does it? I'm not saying that we should sack Pardew if we lose those two games - I was more referring to the backlash there would be from the wider fanbase and potentially some of the more disaffected players. The derby holds a much heavier weight than any other game - a shit performance/result in one of those and people usually gan ape.

I'm well aware what I've just said is based on hearsay etc, it's just a feeling I get. I'm not going to bore on about it like so many of the doom mongers do, I just think that things could blow up for Pardew fairly easily should we not hit the ground running.

Regardless what everyone thinks of Barton's tweets, it's quite worrying that so many of the players seem so unsettled. I reckon if we fail to win in our first two games, there'll be a canny few transfer requests going in.

On a completely unrelated note, the new series of 'An Idiot Abroad' has apparently been filmed.

It is possible to hate your boss but enjoy your job, you know. And if the bit in bold is correct, get yourself down to Joey's house and tell him to his face that you think he's a wanker, instead of doing it on his twitter page. You're contradicting yourself for about the gazillionth time, well played.
  13. Not surprised it was 14-0, if they had to play with two players less. Fair one.
  14. It's finally happened. neesy has become a parody of himself.
  15. Dean Jones and Tom Hopkinson from 'The People' say so too. Hot fuck.
  16. Pre-season or not, some of the defending does sound concerning.
  17. He's pushing for a first-team spot. Take note please, Pardew.
  18. Just got in. How we been doing - who's been good, who's been shit?
  19. Hardly. Everyone knows Ashley and Llambias are shits for reneging on previously agreed terms, people are just pointing out that Nolan wasn't worthy of a 5-year contract. As someone said earlier, Nolan should never have to buy a drink in Newcastle for as long as he lives, he's done a great deal for our club - but he only really had this season coming where he'd realistically be near the team. If the intention wasn't to give Nolan five years then they never should have shook his hand about it, and for that Ashley and Llambias are rightly being derided. However, that doesn't make Nolan suddenly a better player in retrospect. One of the best captains we've ever had, but he was already on borrowed time.

Roeder loved window shopping, like. Easyjetting off to France, Holland etc to watch players we had no hope of signing or paying for.
  21. Blackburn, Wigan and Swansea.
