  2. Dont man Dave you just know the usual suspects will be in here with there praise of Sir Mike. yeah and of course they would have better insight than Shearer.

    Sunderland...

So the only difference between us and Chelsea is literally a RICH OWNER?
  6. Drogba= very good player, but he discredits himself a long way by his windging diving cheating ways -thus handing this debate to AS.

    Mcboro

so they are claiming that pic shows ground half full?
  8. It must be about 17 years since we lost a league game at home outside the top Division. Grimsby? Was that it? fucking hell . that was when i was young.

  10. Totally agree ON ( even tho I cant play, if could -would) howay the blues.
  11. feels more like 20 years. If you stood still blindfolded in the opponents box for 10 years , 62 goals would probably bounce in off you.
  12. I disagree. Granted Shearer was a massive signing, and the top English centre forward, but he signed for us when we looked like being a whisker away from being a trophy winning side. Keegan had been crowned euro footballer of the year twice and signed for us when we were on our arse. Likewise it was national news. For me it was almost unbelievable to sign KK. The biggest single thing that has happened here for me since my dad first took me in 1971. could have phrased that a bit better couldn't you ?

  15. any excuse to bang the drum, give it a rest man thb, read that and thought it was a piss take looking for chomps, it was so un-believable
  16. More dramatic than that, we'd been relegated a few years before, we had a couple of decent players but the bulk of the team were local lads who really weren't very good. We were on the brink of becoming a Preston or the like. The ground was awful and the fans had a kind of apathy; we'd suppport the team but expectation was so low we didn't believe that we would ever amount to anything. KK signed turned the course of our history; it ultimately led to him becoming Manager and that turned our history yet again. I wonder If Waddle and Beardsley would have become what they did, if They hadnt been promoted alongside KK.
  17. he was when we signed him aye, but omitted from the next squad , by -SBR
