Will be spending a fair bit on the Superbowl I imagine. Will do some decent sized serious bets then a few for fun.

I didn't either until I'd seen the team just after kick off. Fancied Warrington anyway but when I saw who Quins had out I thought the same, very easy indeed.

After waiting a week for the final part of this treble I find out I did not take Hull +8. They are winning at half time 12-0. 1 28/01/2010 Algeria v Egypt (Full Time Result) Egypt 5/4 None Won 2 28/01/2010 Celta Vigo v Atletico Madrid (Full Time Result) Atletico Madrid 1/1 None Won 3 06/02/2010 St Helens v Hull FC (Match Result) Hull FC 11/5 None To Run Return is £67.00 It came in!!! £72 I can't believe you fucked that up but got away with it! Had £20 on us to win with a 10.5 start, slightly disappointed that I didn't back us outright though. Gone for Wire -14 tomorrow at home to Quins. Warrington won 58-0.

Over the moon doesn't describe it, superb start to the season. My pre-season bet on Fitzgibbon to be Man of Steel at 50/1 started pretty well last night, from what I could see through the fog.

Oh for fuck sake. Carroll is a fucking striker, he scored twicem and now he should be dropped? fuck off Did you watch the game?
-
I know he scored twice tonight and was (wrongly) awarded Man of the Match, but his general play was still pretty gash. I know it's harsh but I'd drop him against Derby, allowing Best to play alongside Lovenkrands.

Obviously not our song, but this made me chuckle.
-
What a moron. Why? He's not really gonna get played at Tottenham, why would he stay? Just seems a very odd move.

Harper Kadar - Williamson - Coloccini - van Aanholt Routledge - Guthrie - Smith - Jonas Best - Lovenkrands Subs: Krul, R.Taylor, Hall, Nolan, Ranger, Carroll, Ameobi/Pancrate

Said the same to my old man last night. Hargreaves > Barry.

Carlos Vela? Get fucked, we have no chance!

Egypt at Wembley in March is the only confirmed game so far. Rumours of a couple of games in May too, one possibly in Austria against Japan where we are going to have our training base. Mexico have also been mentioned as potential opponents but no confirmation as yet where it will take place, if at all.

The form that Rooney is currently in, could we maybe see a change in formation for England? I know the current system is working well with Heskey alongside Rooney, but I think playing a 4-5-1/4-3-3 could aid us with the talent we have in midfield. I think it could also allow us to get the best out of Gerrard and Lampard, who are the two other most important players in the squad.

Was tempted to back the draw between Arsenal and Man Utd but having seen the teams I'm tempted to plump for Arsenal...

Anybody on here apply for tickets? After a bit of a delay, the results of our application were recieved the other day. We only applied for tickets for the Final if England get there and all got allocated a ticket. Just got to hope we make it that far now!

You need to understand where you stand in the football pecking order, its several places below Wigan! The view of a fan from another small town club is hardly likely to be relevant.
-
That's the difference with our strikers and a decent one though; a decent one would have scored today, despite the lack of chances we created. Not saying that the central midfield is any good by the way, I've said for years it's the weakest point of the side, but we could just about get away with Nolan and Smith in this league. We actually have two players in the squad at the minute in Guthrie and Barton (when fit) that would be a massive improvement on the previous pairing mentioned, not likely to happen though. With nobody up front to stick away chances, regardless of feeding off scraps or not, it could well cost us.
-
Shearer would have helped bring his game on but not anywhere near as much as he'd have improved Ranger. As it is, he isn't here and we have a young lad who is being stuck up front on his own in a stupid formation. Fair enough, that isn't helping him out, but his general play is just awful at times.

If Ronaldo hadn't posted that, would people have argued it? He's absolutely spot on.
