I feel like I've fallen back in love with this club and football in general. It all feels so Keegan-esque right now..... I was out tonight and the girl I'm seeing instantly noticed my giddiness. I'm gobsmacked. There's a been a noticeable fan split in recent times, with so much miserable apathy. Benitez will drag this club up from its knees. He's a winner, a world-class manager and even our players will raise their game for him. All this talk of an improved defence sounds class. Let's just stay up and start a new, happy era in the history of this special football club. We have all the potential in the world - Rafa sees it. He is a God.

It's a thread based on gut feeling at the time. I was certain while McClaren was here, now there's been enough change to bring some hope.

I was really ready to hate this club and not give a shit anymore, than they do this - appoint our best manager in many years! What a coup, honestly. And I respect that Benitez has taken on this challenge when many others wouldn't. He sees NUFC for what we truly are underneath the Ashley bullshit. Stay up and it could be a bright future.

Down from a 10 to an 8. It's a phenomenal appointment but still think it'll be too late. Too much rides on the derby, even though I think Leicester (a), Liverpool (a) and Man City (h) suddenly seem winnable.
