so ashley'll use this quick money to ease the £110m write off before he sells?? low blow. altough tbh the majority have to go anyways.
-
put me down for july 4th

i trust this because its bbc and not a rag. thought that was all very positive news until the bit about transfers. will people like beckford/skjelbred/mccarthy/whoever we're after really wait a month if others want them now?? that might be a problem. but at least this time we'll get sold (touch wood!)
-
not a great fan, but we need some good free transfers in and thats essentially what he'd be. theres lots more players i'd rather get rid of.
-
its disgusting tbh. he always did seem like a nasty piece of business (in my eyes). and for £11million that seems like a bargain. how come the richest club in the world are getting given and barry on the cheap?? its stupid (although maybe its to counteract what they did with de jong!!)

someone else will come in for him and he'll go there

From The Sun: What a mess we truly are

that was fascinating and really enjoyable. if only it went on for longer......ginola's honesty was a nice touch.
-
he's a good manager for them, but its hilarious to see their reaction. better choice than mancini i reckon
-
Aston Villa rolled over for us last Sunday....its not their fault our lot couldnt be bothered to try.
-
Tbf he was the first Inter manager to win the Scudetto for quite some time. weren't they awarded that though?
-
is he actually that good? ive yet to be convinced. anybody can win serie A with inter, especially with one being awarded to them and the two affected by juventus' plight. has he really proven himself as a good manager yet?

if ashley appoints shearer and the new guys dont want him....theres 4 years pay-off for him and dowie. which starts the cycle again. having said that, i'd rather have an ambitious multi-millionaire than a tight billionaire in charge. someone who's willing to spend and knows what he's doing, but also wont lose the majority of his wealth in one year! its kinda typical that out of all the billionaires, we got the frugal one!
-
good player, but one of the few we can get good money for, so its a no-brainer. tbh i'd want more than 8mill, definitely 10mill. theres some silly prices about nowadays and if we get a bidding war started itll shoot the price up. although if you buy martins, do you get his injured groin for free?? or is that a seperate package??
-
Birmingham got Muamba, Larsson and Bendtner on loan a few years ago and that turned out well. We'd be silly not to go for loans, especially if money's scarce.
-
if chelsea would let him go, michael mancienne. but its unlikely. ideally, jack wilshere, aaron ramsey, fabio, llajic, welbeck, dos santos, gunter, ched evans or jose baxter....but that might be aiming a bit high. theres always that stevie gerrard fella

Put Daniel Fox at LB and then we have a deal.....
-
Just Beye, S Taylor and Bassong. The rest can fuck off and never come back, lets not be sentimental....this is the squad that got us relegated while Hull didn't.

Somebody is stupid enough. He seems like a Moyes/Allardyce type of player. I disagree about Martins, he's still very higly rated and considering Darren Bent left a relegated team for £16million, TWO YEARS AGO......£8million for Martins should be a minimum.

This club needs a dramatic overhaul from top to bottom and the only way that would sink in was if something drastic happened. Now it has. This might be naivity, but I'd sacrifice one relegation for the sake of stabilising and becoming a football club again, rather than a comedy club. Can you imagine how much worse it would have got next season? The Championship still has a hint of honesty and innocence, especially compared to the corruptness of the top flight. So while ultimately that is where we need to be again, I think spending time in a league where fans genuinely seem happy isn't that bad. Also, its very unpredictable. We might even win a few matches!!!
-
Its became more obvious since Given left that actually, they weren't on the same level at all. But yes, there's more important positions to strengthen.
-
Realistically; Bassong (£8m) Enrique (£4m) Coloccini (£6m) Jonas (£4m) Martins (£9m) Geremi (£1m) Smith (£4m) Barton (£2m) Xisco (£2m) Plus Owen, Viduka, Lovenkrands and Cacapa on Frees. That totals to £40 million. I think some are underestimating how inflated the market is, we can easily make that much money.

Wasnt there some statistic that the season before we were the 4th most televised Premiership team?? Meaning we beat one of the "Big 4". Surely we've done it again?
