I'd want them for different reasons, really. Martinez and Shearer are exciting because of their age and potential as managers, whereas houllier and van gaal are immensely experienced. it depends what you want in a manager really, and also what state the club will be in come summertime. basically, as long as its not JFK haha

Bobby Martinez is brilliant!! He's exactly the type of appointment this club has been scared of making for years, And thats why we should do it. It would signal a new direction for the club and eventually......world domination!! I'd love Martinez, Houllier, Van Gaal or Shearer tbh.

15 points should do it. so thats wins againt sunderland, pompey and boro. one win out of fulham/everton and sneak a few draws against out of the WBA, bolton, stoke, hull and arsenal games. its do-able, but im still not optimistic

apart from the mackems, thevye been a good set of results. theyve also got stoke, spurs, wigan and hull at home so i'd imagine they're almost safe now

but spurs are never going to go down, whereas stoke should do. so i'd sacrifice seeing saggy faced harry win, for our benefit.

doesnt matter what david craig says, he's obviously leaving. if we get £8m plus onuoha and use that money to buy a CM, we'll have done alright. maybe get another CM on loan. and if his "one more game" was a derby win over sunderland, it'd be even sweeter. shay and shearer both play their last games for NUFC and defeat the mackems then when shay becomes 2nd choice in the summer, we buy him back for peanuts :thup:

i'd be unhappy at wasting £6m of our precious money on another small striker. quality player, yes - but not a priority right now.

Is that plus cash? While were going wild on Friday night if we can get Robinho & Ireland + cash I would take that over richards and sturridge. Tbf Sturridge is out of contract in the summer. its not that wild tbh. as you say, sturridge is off in the summer. the rags (yeh yeh, unreliable) reckon richards would go for £5m, although i'd say thats way too low. some combination of richards/johnson/sturride/gelson/onuoha would be lovely.

Owen would more than likely have re-signed, more players would be interested in joining us and might well have already done that. Given our current situation he would be a great choice to take over in the summer, there will be few better options available. He'd of been my 3rd choice behind Deschamps and Zico. Deschamps becasue he's young talented knows Wise and will have a good grasp of the market, and Zico becasue he's used to working in this type of set up, has a decent coaching record and is a huge name in the game both like playing attacking football. Houllier might actually appeal to Ashley as he might fit the system quite well and is also a 'name' that might pacify the fans for a bit. Almost dare to dream it might happen! :'( please dont do this. i cant take the pain! ....FWIW, I cant believe we keep overlooking Louis van Gaal. He's exactly what we need. Who's overlooking who? Duff would be sold, he's a player that we would get some money for and we couldn't take a play on his wages down into the Championship. Taylor would also probably be away as well as like you say teams rate him and the club would cash in on him. Especially when the likes of Owen, Viduka, Butt, Harper, Cacapa would walk out the door in the summer for free, that only leaves Colo,Taylor, Enrique, Charlie, Oba, Jonas, Barton and Duff to cash in on and could only see us getting big money for Oba and Jonas, doubt we'd get our money back on Colocini. who in the premiership would take duff though?? especially with the wages he'd demand. i just reckon we'll end up being stuck with a couple that we cant gid rid off.
