  1. either bellamy or ferdinand. i remember al saying he thought les was his best strike partner at club level
  2. i'd have him back in a heartbeat (personally) seriously though as a squad member to help us back to the premiership (hopefully) i'd like to think he could help us 'til the end of the season
  3. sign him up, he's done well for us
  4. i'm expecting the 'club for sale' signs to come out as soon as the january window starts to be honest
  5. The club's two best spells when he was on our books came when he was out of the team, Roeder end of 05-06 season when he was at Villa on loan, and Keegan end of 07-08 season. He acted f***ing legendary when we tried to ship him out and then recalled him at the last minute. Most would have thrown the toys out of the pram and he just got up and got on with it. yup, the way he got pissed about was shocking, as has been said many others would have spat the dummy out but he didn't, he came back and knuckled down and for what it's worth i thought he was one of our better players and was sorry to see him leave
  6. i really hope so, it's heartbreaking to see any player (with such potential) curtailed like this at such a young age hopefully he can come through physio ok and live a 'normal' life in the future, ideally doing something related to football in some way
  7. ah see, this is where the sportsdirect.com@st james' park stadium comes into play... where we'll be selling arsenal, man united, liverpool, chelseas kits as well as our own, and X amount of other tat ... possibly
  8. hmmm puma could be alright, if they ditch those stupid cape style templates
  9. was it victor moses who set nile up for a few headers in the u19 england matches?
  10. Which foreign players would you say come close to Shearer in ability? viduka & kluivert in their pomp (to an extent) reminded me a lot of the way shearer played
  11. yeah, it's a shame like. i really had high hopes for him, always thought we'd sign him
  12. if in the january window we can keep everyone and bring in kris boyd, danny simpson, victor moses / darren ambrose and maybe another defender i'd be fucking ecstatic
  13. i'd be happy with signing boyd ahead of harewood, but not if rangers were wanting silly money though
  14. Luckily Phil Brown was back in the area for a few days and was able to talk him off the bridge
  15. he'll use the facade of trying to sell the club again for the next 2 windows as an excuse to not sign players then either sign nobody or whover they can sign for free / low fees on deadline day

    No. 1 striker

it's good to see, whoever has been picked up front has been scoring recently so it's nice to see the competition for places and players wanting to play for a change
  17. Bit old now though isn't he?
  18. he's a player i always thought we would sign at some point. we'd be daft not to go in for him, but it wouldn't surprise me if the mackems are interested, probably used to seeing him play in red & white stripes (southampton, sheffield united, stoke)
  19. Definitely. especially if pancrate can whip a cross in
  20. i thought you meant for bernard to be his interpreter although that wouldn't be a bad thing. bassong was doing alright with the geordie last season too. would be funny it lovenkrands started picking a bit of geordie to go with the glasdanish
