i'd ask him if he prefers chilli or garlic or a lil' bit of both on his kebabs after a night out but that's probably a more apt question for kevin nolan i think

i liked the look of mabina who played for angola in the acn, would be worth inviting over for a trial i reckon

Portsmouth FC in yet more trouble - administration again?

if we didn't have stupid bastard transfer windows they'd be able to sell players, and we'd have not had (as many and as much) daft inflated transfer fees over the last few seasons -
i saw leon best in tesco @ kingston park last night

yup, so much mutton dressed as lamb through there on bank holiday monday's like

oh aye, definitely rather have koumas here than pulling the strings at west brom. hopefully west brom are due their dodgy patch soon

wouldn't be too bad to bring in like.

that's not a bad one like

yeah, he's gone off the boil a bit, maybe dropping him for a couple of games might light a fire under him

not strictly football related but i've had a good chuckle at this... http://twitter.com/CherylKerl

i doubt he'd want to come back anyway tbh

i'm watching on ebay for a 'gascoigne 8' print set for the grey euro '96 away shirt got the shearer one from toffs last year
-
i've still not got around to getting the home shirt because of the price. i suppose i'll wait to see what number beckham gets for the world cup squad too. the away does look nice too.

wow those photos really so look so similar

it's pricey ordering stuff from the states too. i thought i'd scored in getting an oakland raiders shirt for $15, only to find it was going to cost $60 or something in postage, making it not quite the bargain i thought it was

Sorry mate, but if Gazza wasn't a "world class player" then I'm still waiting to see one. He was a great player but never made the last step up in my opinion. Never joined the Zidane's, Pele's etc. i think he had the talent to, if it wasn't for 'that tackle' on gary charles in the '91 cup final. he was still a good player afterwards but never hit the heights he should have

I think we just need a moment to absorb this comment. We outclassed Barcelona in a Champions League fixture. It almost seems like fiction when you look at us now. I wasnt at the Barca game but I can take with me the fact that I saw us beat Juventus at home in the Champions League. Success is relative and that was a big night for me personally. I also missed the Barca game - had a ticket to see Oasis at the Arena on the same night. During the concert, Noel Gallagher kept updating the scores - when he said it was 3-0 to Newcastle, most people just thought he was taking the Pish! Liam Gallagher wore a Newcastle shirt for the whole gig as well. Had recorded the match, and watched it in full when I got in from the gig. i didn't know that

did you see the match where wyn davies was swinging from the crossbar? a fella i used to work used to mention it a lot, and was always trying to find a photo of it.

i didn't actually get to see a game at st james park until i was about 12, with my dad working weekends. it was in the promotion season against brentford, i think we won 5-1, rob lee scored from his own half but it was disallowed. i think chris hughton was playing for brentford then come to think of it.... i picked up the old 'blue star match' tape of said match in a charity shop in sunderland. need to transfer it to dvd for posterity. i'm sure if still got the programme somewhere too, i remember it had killer on the front and a poster of barry venison

arshavin's a good comparison emre (sometimes) and tevez remind me of beardsley too, to an extent

yup ... i got number 4 printed on for when roy aitken signed from celtic. i had the yellow/green striped umbro one with #9 and the sew on 'greenalls' from the supporters shop, i thought i was the bee's knees. prior to that though i had the umbro v-neck '84-87 shirt, when i was about 4/5, was gutted when i grew out of that one however i did pick up for £4 in oxfam the score draw reissue of that shirt! i ended up with the old bukta shirts /shorts, long sleeved as hand downs too, i'm sure i had the martin thomas keeper top too... but in answer to the original question, when i was about 4/5, i used to think any kids in black and white shirts playing on a field were newcastle :-[ i also never understood the concept of england, when beardsley was sold, i knew he played for newcastle and england and was gutted to find he couldn't play for liverpool and newcastle!

i'd have possibly said parma in italy, but they're perhaps nearer to leeds, especially colour wise -white, blue, yellow

John Terry loses England captaincy, Ferdinand gets it
nobby_solano replied to Ishmael's topic in Football
yeah, he'll still be important. 11 captains and all that bollocks. we've got some good leaders in terry, ferdinand, gerrard, beckham, lampard .... along with rooney's fire.
