Sensible selection today imo. We've got 3 games within a week. 1 of which is against a hopeless load of league 1 fodder. The other is against a decent side chasing promotion. Rest the star performers for Monday night and allow the lads who are low on confidence and havnt had much game time to play against clearly inferior opposition* *Opinion liable to change depending on result.

After those two injuries Owen was a different player tbf. He lost that crucial yard of pace and has never looked the same player since those two horrible injuries that left him out for so long. I have no doubt that without those injuries he would have carried on his form from Real Madrid liek he looked like doing in his earlier days in a Newcastle shirt.

Certainly agree. At points, you see him make mistakes that would be punished at a higher level. Fore example last night, he switched off and left Blackstock unmarked for a good chance, if Blackstock hadnt fluffed his lines and they'd gone 1-0, I'm not too sure we would have pulled it back to win.
