  1. inferiority is drilled into them from the day they are born, they can fight it all thier lives. they can twist and make up things on the internet. But they can't escape the truth that they are a smaller club,-and it eats at them every single day. Fantastic!
  2. Tbh I've been totally won over. Regardless of the players we have, the poor away performances, the at times negative football, you cannot deny he has done a magnificent job this season. I know I've said this already but he has a distinct lack of arrogance and stubborness with regards to his managerial decisions. How many past NUFC managers would have insisted on playing Butt, refused to drop Best etc. Not only that, but he has conducted himself admirably throughout the season. No bulshitting, no lieing, whingeing or moaning. He's just got on with the job. Not only that but his signings have been good as well, he regonised we needed a right winger so he got one, and he's done a great job thus far. Signings like Hall, Zurab and Van Aanholt have done well too when debutised. You could complain about Best however he cant get everything right. When you add this to the team ethic, spirit and togeatherness that he has managed to install, thats something else to his credit. Of course he's not perfect, if he was, he wouldnt be here, I was raging with him on the way back from Barnsley, he cost us 2 points against Leicester, we havn't played excellent fdootball this season but regardless, when you consider how many were predicting us to fail again this season after that game at Leyton Orient, for me he's done an absolute stirling job as manager of Newcastle United.
  3. I've always thought he'd fit in nicely at Liverpool tbh. He's Spanish and better than Insua. Though Rafa seems to like him, hopefully the bigger teams will stay away.
  4. ^ 9 Goals in 14 appearances this season tbf and he is experienced, Champions league and Uefa cup football as well as 9 seasons in the top league. I could see him finishing as top scorer had he played as many games as Carroll. Having said that I think he fits into the "a cut above most in the Championship, not good enough for the Premier league" Catergory.
  5. The heart wrenching thing about this is I still have visions of a few bids coming in the summer and Ashley taking the money. Absolutely fantastic player this season, though credit to Jonas, his partnership with him is fantastic, they work very well togeather.
  6. Spurs of the midlands these cunts like. Honestly, talk about having a chip on your shoulder. It's like a fanbase of Brian Cloughs, only without the brilliance leaving them with just the sheer arrogance.
  7. As hillarious as it would be to see them throw away promotion, I'd love to eventually have Leeds back in the premiership. They are a storied club with great following. Aye agree. They're definately a club that belongs in the top flight. I used to enjoy our games with them too, especially in the Sir Bobby Era.
  8. Anyone got an image of the pileup thats large enough to fit as a desktop background?
  9. If he could do it consistantly he'd be a very very good player.
  10. hes been on all week. Link! http://www.forestforum.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=6 Check the six good reasons to hate Newcastle thread among others.
  11. What's impressed me the most about Hughton's reign is the way we've bounced back from setbacks. After the defeats to Blackpool, Forest and Deby we could have quite easily gone on a poor run, however after every game we went on to win the next one. More importantly you can see for the first time, in a long time this Newcastle team is brimmimng with confidence and has a re-knewed sense of belief, passion and togeatherness that will be vital next season.
  12. He just congratulated Hughton, his staff and the players and wished us all the best for next season.
  13. Absolutely delighted. Cant stop smiling. Fantastic. Jose has a sexy bod too!
  14. Pitch looks very difficult to play on. Sounds a good atmosphere too. As for the 46K , i think it looks like theres more there tbh.
  15. It's more of a case of ones still here and has the ability to turn things around. While ones long gone and we've never recovered. If Ashley was to walk away tomorrow and we were to languish in the championship for a few years then its obvious he'd be more hated than souness or anyone in my life time at least tbh.
  16. Did anyone sense a slight change in opinion after the Portsmouth debacle. Seeing what happened down at Fratton Park, I think has shcoked the life out of some folk in realising we could go the same way. The way I see it is, if Ashley is willing to give it a go, which it looks like, then good. However he needs to learn from his mistakes. Certain things insinuate that he wont though; Like that fact Llambias is still here, and that at boardroom level there is still no-one with any experience in the game or in the running of a football club. I also seem to remember Llambias saying that they were reverting back to Ashley orignal plan on how to run the football club, the same orignal plan that saw them put in place a hurrendous system undermining the manager and making a total mess of everything. Also they showed a great deal of naivety and, what could be described as arrogance in coming out and saying that supporters had no real right to critisize ashley, and those that did were critisized by Llambias when he basically claimed they wernt proper supporters. Naivity like that somewhat got us into the state we were in at the start of the season. There is no doubtthat Ashley has the financial muscle to turn this club around, however what frightens me is the total lack of experience as well as the fact he's fucked it up all before after making some utterly mad decisions, and that he's capable of making those decisions once again.
  17. I know he shut it down for a while, didi know he had started it back up again
  18. Collins John! Remember him being fairly promising at Fulham. Won 2 caps for Holland too. He seemed to all of a sudden just turn incredibly shit culminating in him now playing his football in the MLS at the ripe old age of 24.
  19. I cant see why Shearer would go to Celtic. It's not as if he's too good for them. He's still totally unproven other than his disasterous yet shortlived spell here. I think it would be a good club for him to start off with.
  20. To be fair they have won the European Cup twice. Thats my point, if they're such a big club, then they shouldnt celebrate like they've won the European cup again after beating little old newcastle.
