I don't mind Webb as a referee, but he's always useless with Newcastle. The standard of refereeing in English football, especially EPL, is absolutely horrendous.

Williamson - 8 Jonas - 6 Swap them around. Thought Jonas played well. Maybe deserved a 7 tbf, but didn't really produce anything of value. Williamson had a really good game, I thought.

The best thing about his "goal" the other day was that it was really Carroll-esque. He lept into the air, held himself there, and nodded it past the oncoming keeper. Once he settles into a role in the starting XI over the next few year, I've no doubt he'll start to shine. He may not be as good as Carroll is, or is going to be, but he could well be a solid striker for us - and better than anything else we have at the minute. I'd agree he's way more exciting than Carroll was at 19.

Truth is, he was ok before the sending off. The sending off was just madness, and he's not good enough for this level. But he was okay, and I'd dare say that rises to good considering he pretty much hasn't played this season. He whipped in one really nice corner that someone should have scored from, but no one went for it. But yeah, should be off in the summer for someone better.

Tbf, he didn't use the phrase wage cap. He used wage structure which implied that it was more than just a cap, but contract offers were being made based upon performance and ability. He said Enrique's offer would be in line with this structure.

Very good point re: Lovenkrands. Jonas looks twice the player with him on the pitch, and some of his assists to Lovenkrands in the Championship were glorious. Could well be that we lack an intelligent striker like Lovenkrands who also has the physical attributes of someone like Ranger or Best. Bestykrands would be an amazing player.
