  1. Mark Bright saying he spent a week with NUFC last season to see how we do things etc.. (Just before playing Anzhi in the EL) Said didnt realize just how good Cabaye was until he saw him in training in the flesh. Also said that Pardew focused a lot on attack during training sessions. Don't shoot the messenger.
  2. Ok forget the optimism. Absolutely cacking it now. Wish this fixture would just fuck off into oblivion.
  3. Ronny Wallwork has done well to form his own club after that stabbing incident. edit:
  4. Get into them fuck them up Doesn't matter what side we put out. The bright spot is that Dummett is a local lad who knows what it's all about and will not shirk his responsibilities. Wish him all the best.
  5. Man up you crazies. We'll do this mob. 4-1 to the away side. Off to work now and back just in time for kick off. HTL
  6. Bit of off-hand scouting... Jean-David Beauguel. 21 yr old French striker who plays for RKC Waalwijk in the Dutch league. Randomly watched the Ajax match last night and he stood out for me. 6'3 with power and pace, and seemed to have decent awareness around him and held up the ball well. I can't pretend I know anything more about him than the 90 minutes I watched last night (match ended 0-0), but he just seemed to have that extra something about him.
  7. I can't really spot that many weaknesses in this Liverpool team yet. Their midfield obviously is a concern, but they could very well strengthen there in January. Sturridge, whilst in top form, looks a moody fucker. But even when he's seemingly out of sorts, he can still come up with a finish like yesterday's. Their goalkeeper and defence seems to be sorted for now. Losing a non-UEFA-cup-tied Suarez for a massive fee in January is probably the biggest thing that could damage their league campaign. Not entirely impossible if Real or someone of that ilk want to boost their CL push. If they can hold on to him, add a midfielder and possibly another decent centerback, I see no reason why Suarez and Sturridge can't score the goals they need to win the title.
  8. 75 points with 4 players to play tomorrow. Well worth the -4 hit I took this week.
  9. Southampton playing some great football. Classico is fucking redundant. And so early on in the season, isn't that interesting.
  10. Goal and an assist from Lambert already When it rains it fucking pours
  11. 46 points from Coleman, Ramsey, Lukaku and captain Suarez Boruc, Lallana and Lambert coming up. Zabaleta, Vertonghen, Shelvey and HBA tomorrow.
  12. Drafted in Boruc and Lallana for Harper and Marveaux. All the surplus cash I saved at the start of the season should start to pay back dividends now. Fingers crossed.
  13. Papiss Cisse is struggling to score goals because.. Ba is a greedy b****** He's played out of position We don't create enough chances Another down, next. Well, to be fair, this season, how many of our goals have come through "chances created"? I can only count Dummett's, Remy's first against Hull and Ben Arfa's at Villa. Cabaye's two goals, Remy's at Cardiff, Ben Arfa's against Fulham were all individual strikes. The rest mainly rebounds due to deflections (Gouffran's winner, Remy's second against Hull). Not absolving Cisse whatsoever. But we don't actually create that many goalscoring chances for a central striker, whoever he may be on the night.
  14. Yeah - very strange. Was a cracker. It was very well hit but the keeper has to do much better. Totally disagree with this - in general, a strike from 30 yards does pose questions about a keeper's competence but if you saw the shot from behind Cabaye, as on the TV replay, you can see that the bend of the ball and the placement of it gave Mignolet NO chance of stopping it - he dived in good time, but it was just too far to his right for him to reach. One of the best long-range goals I've seen, in the class of Arie Haan of Holland who hit 2 amazing strikes in the 78 WC in Argentina. Replay from behind the goal shows Cabaye glancing up to look at the exact spot he's put it in as well just before pulling the trigger. Got texts from a couple of scousers saying it was a fluke. Told them to get fucked. It really was a sensational strike.
  15. I can't get over that first goal and the sending off incident. Pissing me off no end. We had pressed the ball in midfield so well up to that point, and had been defending well from deep. The one time when Cabaye doesn't put Sturridge under any pressure, and the first time we hold a high line, we end up conceding a penalty and a red card. Circumstances seemed to conspire against us in that phase of play with Tiote running back into play, and ratty boy's obvious dive. MYM had been excellent up until then, but the hand on the shoulder was stupid and asking for trouble. With it being towards the close of the half, it really woke Liverpool up and sent them in to the dressing rooms with a different mindset. Had we closed out the half in front, and with 11 players on the pitch, I'm confident we would have taken all 3 points.
  16. Yeah - very strange. Was a cracker. It was very well hit but the keeper has to do much better. It really moved like a fecker tbf to Josef Mengele, like a balloon in hurricane. This. The replay from behind Cabaye clearly shows the ball starts off moving towards then swerving away from the keeper. He'd obviously misjudged the flight of the ball and his reaction was too late, but that says more about the technique in the shot than the keeper's judgement. On that note, I love seeing our players attempt to hit outrageous shots as Cabaye did today. Granted he's mishit the other two he tried, but it shows that he's full of confidence and self-belief.
  17. Zabaleta doesnt start. What the fuck is going on?
  18. I don't think they were celebrating as much as they were enjoying the relief. Could have gone really badly for us with 10 men. Liverpool were there for the taking. They were utter shite in the first half and we gave them a reason to wake up with the penalty and sending off. Fair result in the end I suppose. Tiote (apart from playing Suarez onside) was brilliant, as were Cabaye, Debuchy and Dummett (bless his heart). Krul commanded his area much much better in the second half as well. I thought Moses and Gerard were their best two players. Suarez still diving and cheating. By far the ugliest cunt I have ever seen. Will be a happy day when he finally leaves this league.
  19. This is f***ing pathetic! Cameron, Ramsey and Lambert all left out of their respective sides. My subs are Vertonghen, Enrique and Marveaux. Edit: Shelvey hasn't started either fml
