  1. Yeah 4-4-2 our strikers need crosses so let our wingers cross with their natural foot, Benny Left & Jonas right but also maybe then Santon RB & Aninta LB

I just wouldnt play Jonas in a 442 full stop. He's not an attacking threat anymore. He doesnt run at full back like he used too. He was fantastic in the 433. Breaking things up, being a pain in the arse for opposition, keeping play nice and tidy. Thats the only place he should play imo.

Yup. And it's not disrespecting Jonas either. He has been phenomenal in that role. When everyone is fit, and Pardew sticks Simpson at RB, I'd still play Jonas in a midfield 3 with Cabaye and Tiote ahead of Anita. It's Jonas' place to lose imo.

  2. We need to shake off the lethargy that has seemed to blight the team in the first couple of games. Need to go back to pressing teams in midfield and further up the pitch. Cabaye has to lead this charge.

Coloccini may be club captain, but make no mistake of it, Cabaye can be the real captain on the field of play, especially in the opposition half. He can lead by example pressing and harrying and most importantly moving, with or without the ball. This part of his game has been missing completely so far this season, and we desperately need to get it back. It's only my opinion of course, but Cabaye can be the difference here. Hope he turns up.

  3. I'm so sick of this toilet of a football club. Got so sick of scouse numpties banging on about Brendan's philosophy, Brendan's dossier, Brendan's tipi tapi, Brendan's Borini etc.. during pre-season. Obviously I was the deluded one telling them they need to be patient and see how the team does in the first few games, as they had to face some tough teams. I truly hope things spiral completely out of control for them, and they end up sacking Rodgers due to fan pressure, and going back in for some old knacker to pull them out of it.

Watching the game yesterday, they were totally clueless, and yet Hansen on MOTD2 says they were impressive! I don't understand it really. I see f*** all difference in the way they play. They spent their transfer budget very poorly yet again. Allen is a very good busy little midfielder but his price tag was too hefty imo. Even Dempsey wasn't the right move imo, as they should have gone for a centre forward.

I don't see them dragging themselves out of this vicious circle for some time yet. The entire debacle manifests itself in their "captain" Stevie G, who looks out of his depth, lethargic and disinterested. Long may it continue.

  4. I thought Villa did OK, but they weren't anything special mind.  Still putting most of this result on our shoulders, we really need to get out of the traps better.  Each of the 1st half's in the league this season have been crap.

I agree about the 2nd point, but don't agree about Villa. They were in our faces for the entire 97 minutes, and we had no idea how to combat them. Last season we got in teams' faces, and pressed the ball a lot better, something which we haven't done so far in the 3 games gone.

  5. Ridiculous that we didn't create more chances in the 2nd half. We had about 70% of the ball and had no clue what to do with it. Cabaye was dreadful today. I'm a massive fan of his, but he really needs to step up and be counted.

Bigi, Anita, Ben Arfa, Santon and Coloccini all had good games. The less said about the front two the better. They are not playing for the team, but for themselves. Pardew needs to sort this out ASAP. He also needs to have some fucking words with Krul about his woeful distribution. and while he's at it, how about we practice set-piece delivery ffs? You'd think a premier league outfit would be better prepared, but I have seen nothing to show any coherence or "nous" in our play so far. And this coming from a largely unchanged line up.

Pardew and his coaching staff have a LOT of work to do before Everton.

  6. Cabaye's been absolutely dreadful so far this season.

He needs to be getting forward and looking to have shots on goal, rather than attempting to emulate Pirlo from deep.

He's not emulating Pirlo ffs. he's playing too deep on the manager's instructions. The manager should recognize that the forwards are way too isolated. I am pretty sure Bigi and the back 4 can deal with Bent and Ireland. The other 5 further up the field should play closer to each other and we'll cut through them. of that I'm absolutely certain.

Win the second half and we'll win the game. Come on ffs!!  :clap2: :indi:

  7. We don't need to play with as much width as you'd need in a 442. Jonas is no longer a wide player. His wing play is absolutely predictable, and offers nothing. He looks lethargic out there stuck to the touch line, and almost in a left full back role. We need a triumvirate in the middle of the park, moving the ball about, getting it forward to HBA and the forwards. It's so fucking obvious.

  8. Wow. How shit are Liverpool? Do these players even train together? None of them bar Allen seemed to know what they were doing. He was an entire notch above any of his teammates. Will probably look to move to a big club in January  :mike:

Arsenal on the other hand finally showed they can vary their play. A few scintillating attacks and some excellent defending. Diaby, Vermaelen, Arteta and Cazorla were outstanding.
