  1. Simpson is a mid-table-at-best right back, and anyone that extolls his virtues either doesn't actually go and see Newcastle regularly, or doesn't know what a RB should do.

His positional sense is almost Bramble-esque (another player that some retards on here defended), and his abilities to track back, tackle and move the ball forward are all massively overated by the same idiots that think Williamson and Perch are capable defenders.

If Pardew had done his job in the transfer window, we'd have gotten a new LB (not Anita, before the fuckwits who base their knowledge on FM start, you're idiots) ,stopped playing Santon out of position, and gotten rid of Simpson. As it is, we're stuck with him, and a team no one is unprepared for. Mid table looms, even thoudg "we're NUFC, so we must be good enough". f*** off.

    :yikes:

  2. Exactly! The actual quality of our first team has been lost in the transfer hoopla. It IS an achievement keeping this group together. We have some talented players who are also good professionals. They would be targets for just about anyone bar the mega rich and super elite. I hope we get to enjoy watching them and win something before the inevitable happens.

  3. They look desperately light up front. Can't believe they didn't spunk a gazillion on a striker today.

Money ain't there. The owners were willing to put a good wedge of cash into the club, but Kenny mostly p*ssed that away. That was a one-off, and while we no longer have to pay off our owners' debts, we have to live within our own means.

So basically spunked your summer budget on Borini, Allen and new deals for Suarez and Skrtel.

  4. I'll still be impressed if we finish above them tbf.

You really think they have a better squad than ours? Still?

Where did I say that?

They're the flukiest c***s ever and I can't believe they'll be as s**** as they were last year.

In that case I'd agree

But seriously though, I must admit they were a tad unlucky last year. What with all the posts, possession stats and racism.

  5. Sam Matterface

Doesnt look great for Ryan Taylor - it is his Anterior Cruciate Ligament - and will be out for some time #NUFC

Will play again in March if we're lucky

  6. Maybe (shock, horror) they're spending what they can afford.

They'll be able to afford it should they stay in the league. If they don't, they'll be going down, down, down

Well we've been in the same league for three years but are expected to believe that we can't afford more than £3m.

We had a good window last summer in my opinion. I said it at the time when no one else agreed. We did well to get Cisse in January. This has not been a great window, we've still got a great team and I expect us to make additions in the future. If we don't, then I'll start to get worried, not now

How are additions in the future going to help us keep our players next summer without Champions League or at least Europa League football?

    good point

  7. That's ridiculous transfer planning to only have 1 target for a position.  At least when the Maiga deal fell through last December we got Cisse.

So doesn't that tell you that they are aware of contingency planning? We clearly wanted De Jong, but he didn't want to come, so we shifted our focus to Carroll once it was made clear that he wasn't wanted at Liverpool. Carroll was obviously just an opportunistic business move by Ashley. Did they drop the ball on this one? Definitely in my view. But it doesn't mean they don;t know how to plan.
