  1. When the teams are announced on the tannoy, "Number 11, Gary Speed" should be read out 11 times and cheered by SJP.
  2. Sounds like he's saying something for the sake of saying something.
  3. Absolutely grinds on my testicles when they do that. You don't see Latin papers printing news stories about David Bekum and Wayn Rouny. It's not a paper. It's an article from one of our own fans. I understand that, which makes it even more stupid.

  5. Spot on! Erm, don't think thomas was definitively diagnosing it as depression whatsoever. His explanation was an offshoot from alpal's rationalisations as to why depression would or could not possibly make sense. [/my understanding] We are all grieving in one way or another, but I'm sure we all have our own questions. Gary Speed's passing is as sudden and as mysterious as it can get. alpal wasn't being offensive or owt, and I don't think he should be chastised for hoping that the police not let this incident go. No one is belittling depression and its dangers. Nothing is established yet, so until then, I'd rather we didn't speculate in any way.
  6. I suggest you watch the game again and answer your question. No shame at all in upgrading, but it isn't a priority at the moment, not at RB at least.
  7. Wow just seen that piece of skill down on the touchline! Can't believe I missed it during the game! Cheers Sewelly
  8. I don't think Raylor's was a penalty TBH, I hate to see those given. There's no rule that says you have to keep your hands glued to your sides. If your arm is out and the ball is kicked off it IMO it's still ball-to-hand. The issue is with whether the handball changed the direction of the ball or not. In Taylor's case it definitely did. Not in Evra's though as his arm was tucked in.
  9. Thought he was quite effective in our first half performance tbh. Coming back to OT, he could have easily bottled it but didn't. In the grand scheme of things he still hasn't played enough first team games to be totally immersed in his position out wide on the right. The important thing is that Pardew continue to persevere with him in training to improve his decision-making which is clearly the weakest part of his game.
  10. I know what you mean. I don't know why but this has affected me in a big way today, as if it was someone I knew personally! He wasn't even currently involved with NUFC, yet I find myself sat in an utter gut wrench. Really awful day
  11. Incredible. Sometimes more poignant than a minute's silence Didn't think clapping was appropriate at all. Found it disrespectful. But that's just my view. Maybe, but once the little group kept clapping, the rest of the stadium had no choice but to clap along, to remove the awkwardness
  12. I know it's trivial but it's doing my head in and sticking out like a sore on the knob, but can someone please fix the spelling in the thread title?
  13. That has to be the most pointless post I have read on here in a long long time
  14. They said it was a contact lense issue on Sky, like. But still, don't blame him if it isn't. Yeah, they said the ref went to both managers before the Swansea/Villa game and asked if they wanted to go ahead with the game. Naah man, he was clearly bawling on the live television pictures. Just after the minute applause, he ran towards the touchline, camera zoomed in, and his eyes were bloodshot and moist, and he could barely talk to the physio. The tears probably caused the contact lens issue anyway
  15. I am absolutely stunned and flabbergasted by this news!! Cannot believe what I'm reading and hearing Awful awful news Rest In peace
  16. take a fucking bow son! take a fucking bow!

    Hatred?

my sides are almost just about nearly splitting at the last few posts on this page. Yep, that is correct. It was very, very easy for Northumbria's finest to police from St Peters to the South Stand, it is the closest stand to any metro station. Now you are in the North Stand Upper and is a logistical nightmare from any metro station. If they still bring you from St Peters, you will get picked off all over the place having to walk past the east stand. If they bring you via Stadium of Light metro station, which is probably closer, you will have to pass the Colliery Tavern boozer. To my knowledge, their is no route which will put you out of reach of Sunderland fans picking you off. What a gigantic bellend. f***ing picked off? What is this? Call of Duty Mackem style? There will be no mass brawls or coordinated mackem 'pick offs' because a) the police wouldn't let it get that far and b) you c***s can't coordinate your f***ing socks in the morning. cheers Minhosa. made my morning

    Hatred?

They can protect all they like, you will get picked off all over next game at the SOL. At present no home fan can get anywhere near because you have a walkway from the metro straight to the South Stand, this is about to change. You've obviously never seen the protection(or lack of it) that Sunlun fans get from Central Station to the Sports Direct Arena Obviously living down south you don't attend home games, seems a familiar story on this forum. get a life man
