The fans didn't trust Ashley back then (and obviously still don't), so had nothing to be happy about when replacing Hughton with Pardew. I genuinely would love to know how the appointment of Pardew came about. Did they listen to what he had to say and were insightful enough to recruit him on that basis? Or was it jobs for the boys? If Ashley genuinely had faith in him to produce the stuff on the football pitch and get results, then I hope he will continue to back him this January, as it is really crucial that he does. We really do have a good thing going on, and if he allows Pardew to strengthen in January we could really push on and get somewhere. We have some fabulous players, who with a stronger squad and a couple of additions can bring back the good times.
