Why? Samba will be looking for a way out. If arsenal and wengar are stupid enough not to take him we would be a good bet Hangelaand may be a bit mote difficult We'd be a sideways move for both of them and those generally don't work out too well. If nothing else Fulham and Blackburn would demand absurd fees. I reckon we're a higher profile club than those two. Fees demanded would be a problem as you say, but would also depend on their respective contractual situations. I think we'd get Samba if we went in for him.

They did play anti-football in their first couple of seasons back. It's not been that bad lately.

I'd agree with that, but would jump at the chance to have him replaced. Was certainly hoping that rumour a few days ago had some truth in it. He hasn't shown anything different, or special about his style of management. With Hughton for example, you could clearly see a marked difference between him as a coach, a care-taker, and then a full-time manager. The man grew in stature, and seemed to have a shrewdness about him. We can't afford to change managers again now obviously, so we'll have to wait and see how we start next season.

Managers are very stubborn 'their' way is always the correct method. To change it would be to admit they were wrong... or something. Wenger is over the top though. At this rate, he can develop his youngsters till the cows come home and he will never win a trophy. Continuously churning out softshite cheating sides with very little tactical flexibility will get you nowhere these days.

I realize this is probably a load of horse shit, but Spurs can suck themselves off, then implode, leaving behind a little mound of toenail cuttings.

I'm in this camp. The way he reacted when he got the card and when he dropped to his knees when he misplaced a pass in the second half shows he really cares. With a more mobile midfielder next to him he wouldn't need to do the work of two men and would hopefully give away less fouls. The constant "shooooot" is irritating too. He's hit 1 good (god-like) shot all season. This. He desperately needs a mobile partner or two next season to pair up with him in the middle. He can't keep thinking he needs to do it all, which is why he is constantly in the thick of it from kickoff to final whistle, so much so that he's more likely to get booked for constant fouling.

He's a big step up from Guthrie, give him Guthrie's wages, flog Guthrie to a promoted / championship team and Mike can even keep the couple of million transfer revenue for all I care. Essentially a cheaper Joey Barton without the history and the injuries, I could live with a team of JB's. Unless we could get Seb Larsson on cheap wages, which I don't think he'd come for, I'd rather chance Lua Lua as cover out wide right next season.
-
I hope we don't go for Larsson. There's nothing he can bring to this squad. Even just as a body. If we should sign him, it should be an after-thought, rather than one of the first we go for.

The hard work begins now. Pardew must have the vision to really build a team next season. A team with a playing philosophy, and one that relies on more than dogged team spirit. The recruitment process this summer (in and out) will be monumentally vital (cliche but true). decent season overall, and certainly enjoyable in parts

Shearer's volley?

No idea what to make of the new strip yet. I guess I'll wait to see it worn on the pitch before I make my mind up. Anyone know if it's scheduled for an appearance against WBA?

Have a go with green and yellow?

I prefer the same yellow version doing that's doing the rounds
