  1. But when City does it, it's disgusting? Well quite. What's refreshing about a team spunking great wodges of cash they've essentially won in a lottery, not earned? That's been the case every year since Abramovich. Weren't Liverpool skint pretty much before they got bought out? Just because they were good 25 years ago doesn't mean what they're doing is any different to Chelsea & City. They were skint because the former owners used the clubs profits to pay the interest on their loan, which was borrowed to buy the club. Those interest payments aren't there anymore. It's different to City and Chelsea in as much as our new sponsorship deals are more lucrative than both of those clubs, and with the debt interest payments being eliminated Liverpool are in a near healthy position. Given the new financial rules Liverpool will be able to hold it's own with both Chelsea and City a few years down the line. Arsenal and Man United, because of their bigger stadiums, will take more matchday revenue than us until we either move or refurbish Anfield. Once that's done only Man United will take more football related revenue over a season. If we were only good 25 years ago where does that put clubs like yourselves?
  2. Kum bay Smudger, my Lord, kum bay Smudger; Sumn bay Smith, the Lord, sumn bay Smith; Kum bay ya, my Lord, kum bay ya, O Lord, kum bay .
  3. Much as I love Tiote, I'd take that.
  4. Would that qualify for our continuation of the French revolution? indeed it would. i'd take that deal tbh. of course it's most likely to be pure fantasy.

  6. Yup. Leads by example. If his english is good enough, he should be our captain no doubt.
  7. The ticker jumps everytime this thread is bumped :colo: love you Colo
  8. Good move by the club. Hopefully it was a footballing decision and not a financial one. We need to see what this lad can do for the team.
  9. Best of luck Chris Hughton Couldn't have gone to a more detestable club, but I wish him well all the same.
  10. We let him shag our wives then do a quick one on us? Me thinks not! Must keep unless the bid is huge (upward of 12m).

  12. No offense to brummie, but I really can't see how the villa fans will spin this in their own minds, so as to come to terms with and accept McLeish. Truly is comedy gold. Sob on the Tyne eh? Enjoy the downfall you spiteful bastards
  13. BA......dundundundundundundundundun BA......dundundundundundundundundundun BAAAAAAAAAAAAAA iiiiiiiiiiii belieeeeeeve we're born with bad knees...... Sooooooome say Demba will score today I feel so at home etc...
  14. Again, if we're replacing him with better, then why not? However, in the particular case of Leon Best, we would need to see the "better" striker arrive first before feeling alright about selling him. Best showed glimpses last season that he can be a real powerhouse in this league if he takes it seriously and works hard on his own fitness and sharpness. To be honest though, I find it quite unbelievable that Best would be sold ahead of Ameobi or Lovenkrands. Non-starter imo.
  15. Absolutely spot on. Surely the board and manager can differentiate between a 30 yr old attacker's value to the club, and a fit, ever-present 30 yr old ball-playing center-half. Would be absolute madness to sell a player of his calibre. He is also an international name, and surely part of the pull to the club.
  16. For some reason I find myself agreeing with these sentiments.
  17. Yup. Rather re-structure deals whereby the club's scouts are paid a handsome reward if they unearth a gem, as well as the agent of said gem. Not sure if this would lead to legal wrangles, but if you set up watertight contracts, it shouldn't be a problem. In the case of Ba, we didn't really need a scout or an agent to have an interest in signing him, and therefore shouldn't pay over the odds.
  18. Neither. It's the Mittal family with Flava Flave Briatore as their sidekick I believe. Technically the richest club in world football until Man City was bought by the entire State of Abu Dhabi
  19. Basically it's "piss off Gervais lad", and "hello Demba, alreet Mev"
