We are lucky to be still in this game, tbh. We're just about withstanding the pressure. Its proving very difficult to get our best players on the ball like Barton, Cabaye and Jonas due to the frantic pace being set by sunderland. And just what sort of role is Obertan supposed to be playing? He's hovering out on the right hand side doing feck all! He should at least be trying to get behind Shola, although our long balls aren't helping! It's gonna be a very nervy 45mins.

Alan Smith on the pitch with the rest of the team.
-
We have some decent options on the bench, at least.
-
They just interviewed some mackems outside the sos and the shite they were talking about was hilarious. As usual they are brimming with confidence. I am so nervous now. Fuck.
-
Can't believe he's starting a player that came on and gave us some energy and directness last week. God, what a cunt he is.

Pleased with that, gives a bit of hope. What a first game for Marveaux! C'mon!

Oh how times have changed

Even though they were possibly the worst team we've ever seen since the formation of the Premier League, its days like these (ie being so unsure of a derby win) that really makes you realise just how utter fucking amazing that 4-1 win was at the SoS in 2006. What a magnificent day. We beat them 5-1 last year, we can beat them again.

Shoot To Thrill - AC/DC for the win.

Listening to Blackout by Linkin Park. Fucking c'mon!

The nerves only hit me yesterday, but I'm all over the place this morning. Might just have a shower for two hours until KO....
-
We're people saying that about him for the derby at the SoS last year? I'm being genuine here. But I think if we lose tomorrow then the pressure will become serious on him.
-
Fair point. This is the thing, we're always so shit scared of them but if you look at it there's not a whole lot to fear- it's not like we're playing Man Utd! But still, derbies are completely unpredictable and anything can happen, especially if your heads not in it. We have players like Coloccini, Barton, Tiote, Gutierrez and Cabaye, there is some hope.

Anyone remember Viduka's goal against Boro at the Riverside when we drew 2-2 in Allardyce's first (only) season? Absolute genius, like world class imo. To turn Jonathan Woodgate like that was incredible. Shame we threw it away with a Julio Arca equaliser!
-
I was about to post saying it is about time he repays us for so money terrible performances and all those goals he scored against us for Wigan. And it's about time one of his free kicks went in, he only seems to get one a season at most, yet he's a 'specialist' at them.
-
To think that Newcastle United are going to Sunderland more than content with avoiding defeat, settling for a draw, is sad imo. Yes, its a derby, but how an earth we've ended up with mentality to go to these places and be scared stiff of a spanking is just criminal.
-
Completely lost my patience with him now. After all this crap about getting a new left back and possibly a new striker in before the derby match and here we are, less than 24 hours before kick off and the closest we've come to signing owt is a shaggin' 'keeper? Fuck off. Fuck right off. Imo, the underlying problem of this club is Ashley, he is the tumour of NUFC that is hampering any form of progression we potentially have, instead grinding us to a screeching halt throwing us into standstill or a resumed process of decline. I'm aware that even the reason we have Pardew as manager is Ashley's responsibility/fault. But does Pardew really have to come out and patronise us with all this bullshit about signing this and signing that etc? No, he doesn't, and I'm sick to my back teeth with it. If he values his job at all he will do everything in his power to avoid defeat tomorrow. I'm absolutely sick of him now.

My insides just twist and squirm when they call Phillips 'SuperKev'

I think the corner is ideal, and I'm sure it'll become a success, but if everyone from Level 7 etc moved to the back of the Gallowgate- the lowest proportion of ST holders in the ground there- then there wouldn't be such conflict like we are seeing now. Also the noise would be tremendous if things got going with the low roof. However, it is a big shame to see our own fans divided over this when we're all supposed to be behind the same team here and- if the governing bodies had any sense they would introduce safe standing areas ie the ones Pav has been showing. That's the only way forward imo, I just cant see what is to lose by it. And plus, we have enough morons in our support, like any other club, so we don't need the level headed ones to be at each other.
-
Nerves are really getting tough now. Just cannot believe we're going to be without a LB, I didn't think we'd actually do this.
-
Not just pace, though. They haven't got a midfielder with Jonas' energy or Tiote's athleticism IMO. And lets face it, Cattermole hardly has an eye for a pass like Cabaye does he? Even more so than an average match Cattermole is a complete liability in derbies such as these. I struggle to see what that cunt offers any team.

true faith sum it up fairly nicely at the end of their latest article when talking about Saturday: "Don’t dare fucking lose"

This is an absolute joke. It's bloody Wednesday, Pieters is playing a match tonight. We should of had a left back signed and sealed on Monday or Tuesday.
