Highly unlikely Howe will trust a young keeper from the French second tier to come straight in. If we aren’t buying a more experienced keeper it would suggest Pope will be the starting No1 next season which concerns me massively.

20 years old, Ligue 2 experience. Looks like a project player which is fine but we need a replacement for Pope not a No2 to ‘challenge’ in the future.

There’s massive holes all over the squad. The areas we were supposed to have strengthened, CF/RW, look as weak as GK/CB.

I would be more inclined to give him a chance if I thought he could feasibly do this but the best we can hope for is exactly the same approach again with three or four new players.

Brighton win was a textbook performance from this season but instead of 2-2 and losing a two goal lead we grabbed a third. This season has been hideous.

Howe so wedded to 4-3-3 that he’s playing with 4 players out of position. This isn’t the bloke that’s going to change the way we play.
