  1. Aye we should keep silent now we've got a better chance of winning now their best player is off.
  2. Wow, we got our first free kick for the half. And 2! Good lord, this is a record against Liverpool. Tyledsley's biased commentary slightly neutralised by some fairer analysis from Beglin.
  3. Commentators couldn't be more pleased, particularly Tyledsley.
  4. 8.10 I think. Gerrard's penalty box diving will start around 8.35. Giving him a bit too much credit there tbh.
  5. Sadly unlikely. We'll battle as per usual and will probably be hard to break down but do we have enough to cause their defence sustained problems? Maybe the fact is, given our current attacking state, we don't need sustained attacks. We might just need one, and we need to take it. I'd like to think we'll go for it though. Can see ET and maybe even pens.

    The Arshavin Deal

His signing reminds me of Spurs' philosophy of papering over their defensive cracks and the fact they sold their 2 best strikers in the summer, by buying more light-weight midfielders. Arsenal don't need him imo. But, glad he's in the Premiership. Let's see how he copes in a major league week in week out.
  7. The hypothetical plan sounds great. Kinnear keeps you up Shearer comes in Gets rid of some of the deadwood, and brings in a few much needed players. Stabilises the squad/club. Solid start to the season, players respect the manager, manager has control. If only it was that simple.
  8. All that matters for me. You'd want Shearer? Can you really blame us for wanting Shearer? Local hero, motivated, honest, should have the players respect and, most importantly, not Joe f***ing Kinnear. Wasn't blaming you, of course it makes sense looking at it that way, it's just my opinion that I can't see it working out, at the present time.

  10. To be honest both gobshite teams on merseyside and there fans are like peas from a pod Care to elaborate?
  11. http://www.4thegame.com/media/00/04/33/claudio_cacapa.jpg Precisely my point
  12. The only reason Arteta gets into the team is because not many midfielders have been exceptional this year, not that he himself has been that good. He's had about 6 or 7 good games where he's been the Arteta who swaggers about the pitch passing the ball around and trying to create stuff. The rest of the time he's been a bystander or injured. Still a vital player for us regardless, though. At long last he's getting his set piece deliveries sorted out.
  13. In other news, Jo's Brazillian. Thus, he's proper good and stuff.
  14. He'll be generally useless, but will score a couple of absolute scorchers early on making everyone think he's brilliant. Are we talking about Quaresma or Deco here?

    Steven Taylor

All without a comma as well!
  16. Ah right, never mind. Still, nice gesture from someone who doesn't seem the type.
  17. Purely going off a Facebook status, but I hear he donated half his signing-on fee to the Sir Bobby Robson Cancer Foundation Trust?
  18. No doubt he played his heart out for the whole game, I'm merely disagreeing with your rating. And aye, sell him. That's exactly what I'm saying. Christ on a bike.
  19. More to the point, 9/10 for being a threat? Idgas how much of a threat someone is if they don't produce something at the end of it.
  20. I was gonna mention the central midfield problems but it'd deviate spectacularly from the point of this thread. Hope he keeps up this sort of standard consistently.
  21. His performace today just goes to show that a generally very good defence isn't that far away. The back 4 have all sometime or another delivered excellent performances, its just getting them to do it at the same time.
  22. Can't really criticse the lad. It's obvious he's a limited player and normally wouldn't be in the first team but he was asked to do a job, won a fair few balls in the air and put in a good shift, so you can't really ask too much more.

    Michael Chopra

I think he was trying to search out Ryan Taylor, who could take the ball, run backwards 10 yards, win a free kick, and curl it past Harper.
