Beyond the cringeworthy nature of writing an open letter to the "lads", I don't see it as a completely laughable set of things to say. Clearly a pretty desperate fan who's appalled with what's going on at his club so far this season, with footballing basics seemingly being disregarded. A volatile manager buying an obscene amount of players - little of whom it seems have particular quality - was never going to end well. Thought it'd take a bit longer for a meltdown but it was coming.
  2. Just looking at the Villa v Spurs game for this and Skybet, Betvictor, PP, Ladbrokes, Coral and Will Hill all have prices for it. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-cup/aston-villa-v-tottenham/match-result-and-both-teams-to-score Drop down at the top will take you straight to the same market for other games.
  3. Best price 9/2 currently but you're right. Given the propensity for goals, 7/1 (PP and Coral) on P'boro winning and BTTS is tempting.

Since getting a couple of wins due to the new manager bounce and momentum, they'e been nothing short of shambolic. Definitely the right decision to get rid of him before he did any more damage. Not cut out for top-flight management whatsoever. Not yet, anyway.
  5. Tenner on that, though. Odd to say the least. Fair play.
  6. Team to win and BTTS combined is a market I haven't looked at too much, but seems you can get generous odds.
  7. Had a decent weekend. Rooney anytime @ 5/2 was pretty damn good considering his record in Manchester derbies, while Real Madrid to win with both teams scoring was overpriced @ 6/4, had a decent wedge on that. My 3pm accumulator was however, again, a shambles. Although 3pm Saturday flutters are good fun, they rarely - for me anyway - come up with the goods. Not even ridiculous 7 folds or owt, either. Seem to have far better success elsewhere.
  8. Less said about this week the better.
  9. HBA, Giroud in for Coutinho, Bony. Deliberated over bringing Ramsey in. Next week, perhaps. Can tell Mirallas'll score as soon as I drop him.
  10. GW5: Norwich 1-2 Aston Villa Liverpool 2-1 Southampton Newcastle 1-0 Hull City West Brom 2-2 Sunderland West Ham 1-1 Everton Chelsea 1-0 Fulham Arsenal 3-1 Stoke City Crystal Palace 1-2 Swansea Cardiff City 0-1 Tottenham Man City 2-2 Man Utd
  11. Was getting rid of him anyway, so that just confirms it.
  12. Not sure what to make of the Man Utd game. On the face of it, a good result for them and it'll be a boost regardless, but Leverkusen's defence/goalkeeper gifted them goals while the first goal was, at best, extremely dubious.
  13. Coral 18/1 for Juve now. Everywhere else 16s. Dortmund is 20/1 at a few places. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/champions-league/winner
  14. Both Juve and BD are fantastic value there. Obscene value. Should be about 12s.
  15. Did you see 16 matches unbeaten Rosenborg lose to "no win in 9" Tromso at the weekend? I've still got it, don't you worry.
  16. Shakhtar and Leverkusen to qualify from Group A @ 12/1 Juventus to win the CL @ 20/1 Dortmund to win the CL @ 22/1 Have a feeling Schalke might be worth opposing in Chelsea's group. Have a sneaky feeling Basel will upset a few.
  17. Another one I've been banging on about is Man Utd in their CL group. Lay, lay, lay. Leverkusen were 6/1 a couple of weeks ago to win at Old Trafford, now best price 9/2. Not saying Man Utd are going to have a disaster but odds on to win the group is appalling. It's a stronger group than they've faced for years. Given the relative chances of Man Utd, Shakhtar and Leverkusen winning the group (I think Sociedad will put up some impressive showings but fall slightly short), you'd be mad to take Man Utd at odds on. I think Moyes' total lack of experience at this level definitely counts for something here. Man Utd this year are no longer the automatic group qualifiers you'd expect. Can get 12/1 on Shakhtar and Leverkusen qualifying fwiw, definitely worth a little bet. Also Juve 20/1 to win it all. Obscene value. Dortmund 22/1. What are the bookies smoking? ------------------- Also worth pointing out the bookies have already realised they've made a mistake with the Bale market or, rather, more people have cottoned to it after the weekend. Bet365 now setting over 17.5 @ 10/11. Best you can get now is 8/13 for over 14.5. Didn't even expect him to score at the weekend - not fully fit, first game in a new system and new team, very difficult game. Bonus goal.
  18. This is a farce. I blame Norway.
  19. Does this constitute a forum bet?
  20. You're right. I'd bloody hope they were the better side in this game like. Can't believe this team who are good at home but struggling currently are leading 1-0 at home at half-time to strong title contenders.
