    Alan Pardew

Southall, fwiw, is a top bloke. Both through personal experience and from what others have told me, he always has time for you. Also happened to be a bloody brilliant goalkeeper. That blog seems pretty much spot-on, at least going off all the comments I read on here re: Pardew, and what I hear from the man himself.

    Sunderland

That was funnier in my mind, granted.
  3. Think Atletico will have cost an awful lot of people this weekend. Seeing "CR7's" face look like a smacked wasp was great, mind. Just had a little look at the odds tomorrow. Even at best price 4/6, we're not good value. Not just saying that either. That's saying we'll win 60% of the time. Given the propensity for a draw in particular, that's just not a good enough price. Think 3/1 for the draw looks big. Always risky backing a draw, obviously, but I'd sure as hell rather take that at 3/1 than us at 4/6.
  4. Yeah man. Hope some others got on at the insane 3/1 price. Honestly, I was a Higuain or Hamsik goal away from having the best betting week of my life. It's been a very good week but that would have put it on a different level. I still maintain though, they were crazy odds. Higuain to score in a Napoli win (2/1), same bet for Hamsik (7/2) - bwin got away with that big time. But yeah, Sassuolo. Cunts. How dare they show some resolve and not lose? The cheek of them. Lazio were 2-0 up as well today weren't they? I wouldn't be happy at all with that. Was it just them?
  5. Their reaction to the quote is embarrassing to them as it shows them as not being very intelligent. Every time they bring it up it amuses me. It's not for nothing that we call them the Scouse Mackems. This. They have the same downtrodden, chip on the shoulder, bitter as f*** small time attitude. Worst away ground I've been to, small, s***, old and in a tip of an area. Not even sure where to start with this tripe. I think having the chance to compete in Europe taken away from us when we were one of the best clubs in the land - nay, the best club in the land - will tend to cause some friction. It's hardly unreasonable to say that dramatically influenced the direction we took. I don't think it's something to constantly point to, no, but yeah - I think having that chance taken away from us might cause a bit of bitterness, wouldn't you say? When your neighbours are one of the most successful clubs in the history of European football, that will also tend to cause some friction. It's not some random, overly played small-time mentality when your neighbours are able to boast that level of success and are still to this day, despite a large section of their fans still living in the past, one of the biggest clubs in the entire world and eminently recognisable wherever you go in the world. That will irk a few fans, wouldn't you say? On a different note, congratulations on not liking us. A lot of Everton fans don't like Newcastle. Some Everton fans quite like Newcastle. And get this - some Newcastle fans quite like Everton. Blimey. Funny old world ey? Considering you're labelling us as "bitter as f***", you seem to have a bit of a "chip on your shoulder." You were exempt from that tbh. But if you want to get into it fine. I've got zero chip on my shoulder, I had zero problem with Everton, until pardew seems to have offended their sensitive nature and tbh I've grown tired of reading/seeing the utter shit they spout on twitter. That blog just about sums it up, it's not personal so don't take it that way. Come on, man. I'm not going to read your post and just think "ah, cool stuff." Few people overreacted to some stupid comments from Pardew. That's not to say it's a surprise some people got wound up by them. Wouldn't you if it was the other way round? I find them very disrespectful at best. Possibly even more so coming from someone of Alan Pardew's 'stature' in the game. Now, people are overreacting to people overreacting. It's absolutely stupid. Have whatever opinion you have on us, but saying it's because some of our fans got pissed off at Alan Pardew is just odd.
  6. I'm not positive but when we drew 2-2 last year, I think we'd only conceded 1 goal in our previous 8 home games. Or something like that. If you'd seen some of our performances in recent years as we limply try to break teams down, you wouldn't consider it a fortress, trust me. I do think there'll be goals tomorrow, mind, always seems to be goals in this fixture, at least in recent years. Had a quick look actually and both teams have scored in the past 5 meetings.

  8. Diego Costa anytime in the Madrid derby on Saturday. He's in brilliant form, and there is usually a fair few goals in this fixture, and that's without Real's rather shaky defence. He's between 6/4 and 2/1 with most places, which in itself isn't bad at all. However, shop about and you can get 11/4 or even 3/1 on him to score anytime. Dunno about you, but I think that's bloody great value. Definitely worth a few quid.
  9. Last day of the season, 11/12? As in, the last season where neither fixture was televised - pretty sure that was the year of the 2-1 (Ryan Taylor scuffed finish, Heitinga wonder own goal). That was an early kick off on TV. Point is, it seems to be on TV loads, which is a bit odd. Yeah, 2 big clubs but hardly massive amounts of rivalry.
  10. I really do fear our style of play will play straight into the likes of Ben Arfa to cause us massive problems on the counter. Can't see there not being at least a couple of goals in this match. Wouldn't be surprised to see a 2-2 again ( )
  11. Wait.... is he saying he's disappointed Man City didn't score more against you?
  12. I'm sure Sky have a fetish with this game. When was the last year neither league fixture was televised? Nearly always goals too.
  13. Much of the same indeed. Was on my Twatter feed so thought it might just have been released. They're going to get away with all this, aren't they?
  14. http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/25/revealed-qatars-world-cup-slaves I assume much of the same will be in this article too.. Absolutely appalling yet not surprising.

Another one: Teams putting the ball out when an opposition player is down on the ground "injured". Play to the whistle ffs. If it's a serious injury it'll soon become apparent then stick the ball out. Otherwise, it's up the ref to stop the game.

Blatant time-wasting. Bit of an obvious one but I'm sure it's happening more and more. Get up you cheating cunt, you're not hurt in any way. Also, linked to this, someone on one team losing the ball and it going out for a throw in, then immediately collects the ball, walks with it for a few seconds, then throws it either really high in the air, or slowly drops it in an inconvenient position for the other team. All, obviously, with the aim to make sure the other team gains no advantage. For blatant cases like that I'd just start giving yellow cards out, it'll decrease it massively. Grinds my gears. They've lost any advantage by giving up the throw-in to the opponent.
  17. Same. My words were "What the fucking hell are you doing, you corrupt piece of.... Get in!" I believe.
  18. Feel dirty for winning that. Awful cheating twats.
  19. Love someone getting sent off after full time. Seriously though, that is total and utter bullshit. Not only was it an obscene decision, Real Madrid didn't deserve to win whatsoever. Clearly had the Madrid derby on their minds and thought they'd coast with a second rate performance.
  20. That was a fucking unbelievable penalty. Pepe hauled the Elche defender down, Real get a penalty. Righto.
