  1. 0-0 FT and you're through? I reckon Metalist will have something to say about that.
  2. Interview with Phil Neville in the latest FourFourTwo. 442: Has Moyes delivered one of his own "hairdryer treatments"? PN: Oh yeah. There was this one game a few years ago, I think we drew 1-1 in a UEFA Cup qualifier, and in the dressing room afterwards he went round each of our players. When he got to me and Lee Carsley, he looked at us and simply said, "And you two. You two must be the worst centre midfield partnership I've ever had to work with." I mean, in that game he was probably right, but still, I thought it was a bit harsh.
  3. Completely agree on another note Messi only had one touch in the penalty area, keep the whole team at arms length superbly well and attacked with purpose when they could. It's hard to remember - off the top of my head at least - Barca being stifled as much as they were tonight. Yes, they have certain games where the opposition are hard to break down, sometimes very hard to break down, but they usually at least create a few good openings here and there. However, I can't remember a single decent opportunity for them tonight. Did Abbiati have a meaningful thing to do all game? Was his goal at any time in real danger? I'm being serious when I say Milan's performance should go down as one of the greatest performances in recent years, certainly of games I've seen anyway. They reduced the greatest team of our generation to nothingness, yet managed to deliver 2 clinical finishes of their own.
  4. 961 touches for Barcelona players tonight. 11 were in the penalty area. Milan were bloody brilliant.
  5. That was an utterly sensational Milan performance and I use that word on purpose because to have the concentration, organisation and fitness to completely stifle Barcelona for 90 minutes is a remarkable achievement. The focus will be on why Barcelona didn't go forward more, why Messi didn't play very well and so on. There are reasons behind this, I'm not buying "oh he just didn't fancy it tonight." Milan were the reason. They were bloody superb and to combine all this with the clinical finishing to win 2-0, I think it's the best Champions League performance this season so far. No doubt some will suddenly claim Barca aren't actually that good. They are. They're the best team of this generation quite comfortably. But it doesn't mean they're invincible, there is a way to beat them and Milan executed it to absolute perfection.
  6. Barca in reality are a lot like Swansea from last year, all the possession in the world but don't get forward enough. They are when they come up against half decent teams. They just play keep ball, they are boring to watch. Decent teams like Man Utd, Real Madrid and the rest? Seriously man. Don't even know why I'm replying to this.
  7. The Leeds win gives me something back from the Leeds/Gala DNB double. Small profit for the night - had a shocker with Barca -1 mind.
  8. Score man Schalke. Daft German cunts. On the stroke of HT.
  9. It's boring, but Milan are playing the only real way of stopping Barca. Screwed if Barca score.
  10. Certainly not been anywhere near as impressed with him.
  11. Really should have scored, horrendous touch.
  12. Continuing the longest-running episode of Faking It.
  13. Barca team looks ridiculous compared to the Milan team.
  14. Possibly, would be with real difficulty though and would take a lot of time to work out! Guess he could just hope the scores get quite close and look to bet in-play.
  15. Jesus, just imagine if he had the first 6 results as an accumulator. Might sound daft but due to the astronomical odds, is there any way of laying tonight's predictions?
  16. Unlucky lads - Gala DNB/Leeds DNB double.
  17. Over 2 legs, struggling to see anyone other than Barca beating them. Maybe Man Utd or Real if they play their very best stuff.
  18. No wins tonight, but in hindsight I have to admit they were fairly poor bets. Should've looked at Malaga a bit more closely, though Cardiff just seemed to have one of those nights. 17-4 shots, 13-1 corners and got beat 2-0. Anyway, withdrawn a bit more and going to look to build up again based on what brought me success recently - singles and occasional doubles. ...but David, seriously man. After recent events, surely you'd have known not to then go against Bayern who - you've said before - you really don't like. Time certainly did tell.
  19. One of those nights it seems. Cardiff 11-0 on corners.
