In these mad times, Haaland 9/2 for a hatrick has to be considered too long surely. Can genuinely see another 9-0.

Reckon Pep will be furious about conceding 3. The score makes the game seem more like it was end to end basketball as opposed to non stop domination.

I feel like they have a load of potentially class players on their day. Neves is brilliant, then players like Moutinho, Neto, Podence etc - these are good players but they rarely seem to put it all together. The Portugese thing is just weird, mind.

Lampard gets a lot of stick for the whole "fight, passion, desire" stuff that he obviously went on about too much, but the point is he was right. We were utterly pathetic last year, now we're far harder to play against. So he deserves a lot of credit for doing something about our main issue, even if it was glaringly obvious. He's got a lot to prove still but there are clear signs he's going in the right direction. Still pretty turgid going forward but that will come with time.

Can't remember the last clear mistake Pickford made, tbh. He's been solid for us for a long time, people go on about the "hasn't let England down" thing as though he regularly has made errors for us. Has previously but not for a long while. Terrible timing obviously for Pope as he's usually so solid but he's had a shocker tonight.

Fwiw, and I'm aware there's a general Everton/Lampard dislike on here, I wouldn't judge our season by this game. We literally have no midfield (days away from being addressed) and both available strikers are out. We will undoubtedly struggle but I wouldn't get too giddy about our demise simply from this game. That said that was an awful watch and really if Chelsea are at it, it's a case of how many.
