  1. same, wasn't happy when they changed the WC tbh - load of s**** that when someone wins the heavyweight boxing championship they don't have to fight their way back to be able to defend it - that's the point of winning it in the first place is it ? i always thought the point was so whoever could say they are the best. i never knew people won titles in order to get qualification for next time round. well it's to get to the top, to be the best is what i mean...it should be up to other teams (or boxers using the example) to dethrone you not for you to have to start at the beginning again to prove yourself If you were the best, you'd have no trouble qualifying through the league.
  2. Mate, it's going to be over before you get to 8 out of the 9 games.

Don't forget Class Jan Huntelaar: http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=702876 Sadly, even the vast majority there are mocking the OP. But Giroud, Debuchy, Milner, Sow - what a team they'll have. Even then though, O'Neill would probably prefer the "versatility" of the "experienced" O'Shea instead of Debuchy, while Giroud will likely have to make do with a place on the bench as he fights to displace Robbie Keane up front.

Has it? The posts I come across from there are just as clueless as they always were. Honestly, if I could think of one club in the league that defines mediocrity, average, lack of skill, boring; it'd be Sunderland. Depressing place, depressing squad. Good enough not to get caught in a serious relegation battle, never going to be that good a side. Fun. Seriously, try to be objective. You have the newly promoted sides for the 2012/2013 season and Norwich, Swansea, QPR - all looking for forwards momentum after successful seasons in their first season back (to varying degrees). Aston Villa? Sure, very bad season but they're a famous club with plenty of past success - a much bigger name than Sunderland. Err, who else? Fulham? Better than Sunderland. Even Blackburn who got relegated can say they won the title in the not too distant past. Wigan? Hell, at least they provide some entertainment with their escape acts. What do Sunderland do? What do they actually do? Achieve a high percentage of throw-ins in their own half or something?

This is the thing, though. They're deluded in 2 senses. They're deluded in the classic football fans sense of "yeah, we should go for Player X, Y and Z" when really, they're not realistic. I mean, just as examples, why in the blue hell would Debuchy and Giroud even consider the notion of going to Sunderland - fresh from their 13th place finish? But then, there's this acceptance that players like Gardner, Cattermole, Colback, O'Shea, Brown, Richardson - you can go on - are actually good enough for them to progress to wherever the hell they think they should be going. It's frightening. It's like a despairing, stubborn, siege mentality of not wanting to open your eyes and realise that, bar maybe 1 or 2 players, what you have in front of you is one of the most uninspiring, mediocre squads known to man.

How do people get paid for stuff like that? A 14 year old who half-heartedly played Football Manager could have come up with that article.
  9. It's a great offer, but be aware that it doesn't mean you get your £25 back to do with as you please. It'll be in the form of a bet which, obviously, you'll not be able to withdraw. Maybe you'll have to put a stake on with that "free" £25 bet (if Djok loses)?
  10. In 9 days, I have this month's wages and another bit on top going into my bank account. Apparently Richardson is the 3rd best left back in the league.
