    Sunderland...

    Few too many, like?
  2. Man Utd fans by and large have a pathetic sense of entitlement. Whenever they don't win, so often there has to be a reason for it other than it being their own fault. It is of course led by SAF - a great manager who will go down in history as one of the very best, but my word, he likes a good moan when things don't go his way.
  3. I'm surprised by how much I've been thinking about this today. When I heard it I thought, that's absolutely tragic and felt really sad about it, and felt for his family. But I didn't expect to feel as strongly about it 8 hours later. Guess it's the shock of it more than anything. Never, ever thought this would happen.
  4. Still haven't got my head around this. Unbelievable.
  5. Balotelli's brilliant. Glad he's not in my side, mind.
  6. I feel for those who are playing today who knew Gary Speed so well. This is going to be one of the toughest afternoons of their lives.
  7. I know this is an NUFC forum, but a memory of Speed I have is at Goodison, watching everyone warm up. Must have only been about 7. Think he accidentally overhit a pass while warming up and it came over to near where we were. Didn't really hit anyone or cause any injury as such but Gary Speed took it upon himself to come over, apologise to the kids the ball had gone near to and had photos taken with them all. Just stood out as a true gentlemen. Really taken aback by this news.
  8. Apparently going ahead, but how on earth they'll be able to focus on this game I don't know.
  9. Quite emotional interview there with one of the journos at the Swansea-Villa game. Said he's never experienced such a stunned silence and disbelieving environment in the press room, and how the result of 2 teams kicking a ball around a pitch never felt less important.
  10. What the fucking hell? Jesus Christ.

    Sunderland...

Surely a battling win vs Blackburn is required to keep 007 in the hotseat?

    Sunderland...

In a sense though isn't it more amusing that they didn't see this coming? i.e. they really thought buying Craig Gardner, Wes Brown and Ji Dong Won were going to propel them to some sort of solid top 10/top 7 charge, despite repeatedly being told their deals completely stunk of mediocrity.

    Sunderland...

As I say, the initial defending is brilliant, but what makes it is the man who's about to block Di Santo's shot, falling over.

    Sunderland...

I'd suggest that the decision to set the transfer window ablaze in the summer wasn't the best option. Just feels like Ji Dong Won, Craig Gardner and Wes Brown weren't worth arson.
  15. Wow, Pulis decided to dress this morning.
  16. Should have been booked. Pretty stupid from Rooney, he should've realised he wasn't going to get the ball (actually, looked like Colo knocked the ball away a fraction of a second beforehand) but nowhere near as much in it as people on here are suggesting IMO.
  17. The original fuck-up was amusing, but what most tickled me about that goal is the defender who was going to block the shot falling over.
  18. Oh btw, the winning goal is hilarious defending.

    La Liga

They're in a rare situation of being severely tested so will be interesting to see how they react. 9 points from 6 away games. Don't think anyone would have predicted that.
  20. Spurs are looking like the real deal.

    Blimey, Getafe 1-0 Barcelona FT.
