We've just signed a 26 year old for 8-10 million, the club clearly considers theoretical re-sale value as much as anything else when choosing to sign a player.

Such intelligant movement from the Russians, Dzagoev and Arshavin swaping all the time, Kerzhakov coming out wide and Dzagoev going central. All this Shirokov coming from deep and causing problems. It'll be interesting to see if they can perform againt the better sides in the tournament.

I'm still expecting Gomez to spawn a few in.

Perhaps not the Golden Boot, but 8/1 to be top Russian scorer was superb value.

Once again gone for Dzagoev anytime and Russia to win, this time it's enhanced at 6/1.

On a side note Malouda was dogshit, offered absolutely nothing. How he got in the side ahead of Menez/Ben Arfa is beyond me.

Not sure I'll bet tomorrow. The only likely bet being Czech Republic-Greece under 2.5. At 1/2 it isn't worth it. Russia should win but I can see Poland sneaking a point, as Beren says DNB might not be a bad option at all.

They looked far more creative, their major problem being Benzema was dropping far too deep/out wide there was no one to latch onto the subtle supply line from Nasri, who for parts ran the show. England played how everybody expected, it was the right thing to do. If they'd gone at France a mauling was inevitable so in that respect the game plan was a success. It'll be interesting to see how they go into the next couple of matches with the tag of favourites.

Ref was fine, England were disgraceful in the diving/play acting department.

Good result for England. Has to be said though, they comfortably have to be one of the worst sidess in the world for diving and general unsportsman like behaviour, awful.
