Barton/Guthrie midfield isn't strong enough though. If we go ahead with Carroll+3 attacking players (Jonas/Routledge/Ben Arfa) then ideally we need 1 very defensive midfielder, ideally with a big physical presence in some way. None of our midfielders offer this.
