Yeah really good decision. Could argue a yellow for the Burnley player tbh.

What happened to Walker’s proposed transfer?

Really looking forward to this. Genuinely not all that fussed what happens this year. Obviously I’d like to win the league and for Arsenal to implode, but since that’s not going to happen I’ll just enjoy it. As long as Arsenal don’t win the league and we’re OK I’m not all that fussed.

It’s not a new thought, but that Man City bench is fairly incredible.
-
Amazing is it legit?

It’s almost worth it just for that tbh.

And here’s the thing. It’s understandable that people say this stuff. It’s just…it sounds a bit hollow coming from you guys after Shearer turned down Man U to go to Newcastle. I think it’s great he did. I love when players stay with teams their whole career, or choose their boyhood club over trophies or money or whatever. Doesn’t happen often enough. Just feels a bit rich to hear people complain about the top teams creaming off the best players and then complain that Kane/Shearer/Totti/whoever doesn’t have ambition.

Yeah that makes some sense. He might go, he might not. We’ll see. He’s settled with family and kids, clearly loves the club, it’s a tough decision. Anyone pretending it’s not is a bit daft.

Classy as fuck finish by Ndidi.

Weren’t they all free-kicks? Not so much an environment as his specific job.

Dunno, I’m split on this one.

Was gonna say. He just scored 4. He’s Harry Kane. Wherever he plays this year he’ll be fine.

Feels like speed and fitness is the big difference between the teams. Nigeria are so much faster getting back than England are getting forward. They also have a couple of standout players, while James has been man-marked and it’s largely taken her out of the game. She looks leggy, as do many of the England team.

Title IX was massive for the US game. Women’s football benefitted enormously in a country where school and college sports underpin almost all major sports. A huge population, the ability to pick up talent at an early age and the professionalism of the coaching trumped the rest of the world that was relying on individuals and a handful of independent clubs. It’s great that that’s turning round with so much investment from professional clubs (especially in Europe) but the US should come again. The resources (both financial and human) are just too great.

Yeah it does rather feel like Levy trying to be clever. Again.

Yeah but you’re a Newcastle United fan and a bit of a blowhard . Whether you would or would not have signed it is completely irrelevant. The fact is, he did sign it. You can certainly speculate as to why, but he’s very much not an idiot. I’m guessing that he was torn. He loves Spurs, but Man City was a fantastic opportunity. If we’d have kicked on after Poch he’d be laughing. We didn’t. Levy played hardball.

He’s just a neat little CM, the kind that we’ve produced a few of over the years. Two-footed, comfortable on the ball, good at keeping possession. Not very exciting. The kind of player who “does a job” but never really amounts to very much.
