Agree to disagree . I'm still genuinely confused about your argument .

Not if it's going like a thunderbastard and high toward the top corner. Not in 5-a-side. Your best bet cutting in from the left and going for the far corner is to hit it with the inside of your right foot and bend it round the keeper. My personal experience says otherwise, Leffe. What if you don't have much time to get the ball from under your feet and also don't want the defenders or keeper to know what you're doing? Well you knock it in with the outside of your right foot before they've even had a chance to realise. Yeah, but to the near post. Toepoke actually works better in 5-a-side. Hitting it with the outside of your right across the GK makes it easier for him to save it, as it has to pass closer to him, and it also has to travel further.

I totally agree with this mind you, I was ace with the outside of my left and could get some serious swerve. Right-footed example; the goal that Martina guy scored for Southampton against Arsenal.

Do I really have nothing better to do with my life right now?

I think you're going to have to confirm what you mean by "cutting in from the left" . What you're saying is not making any sense! If you cut in from the left and try to stick it in the far corner with the outside of your right boot, then the keeper's probably going to save it!
-
Yeah, I'm a bit confused IP. If you're cutting in from the left, it's easier and more efficient to hit it in an orthodox way with your right. Hitting it with the outside of your right foot at that point is actually quite hard, and only really worth it if you want to beat the keeper at his near post or hit a cross that fades away from him. I'm very one-footed (left), and often played LB or LM. If you cut in from the left you can score beautiful goals by bending it around the keeper, but that's usually with the outside of your left foot.

Flying under the radar. A long, long way under.

My wife's a Villa fan, and many of our friends back in the UK are Villa fans. We came to a mutual decision not to talk about Villa at home any more. That is one of the saddest performances I have ever seen from a Premier League side, culminating in one of the most pathetic goals conceded of all time. I have no more words.

How did Yaya not get booked today? Answers on a postcard, please.

Somewhat similar to your last relegation - you look at the other clubs at the bottom and think "you should be well clear of this lot".

Obviously I'm bitter as fuck, but Leicester really have had some extraordinary luck this year.

Absolutely agree with this. Top, top football managers should be able to walk into a team like Liverpool and lift them up - especially this season fgs, Leicester (LEICESTER) are top of the league It might not be "Klopp's team" but they have a much better squad than Leicester and are absolutely underperforming. His team selections and tactics have been very questionable so far. It would take an absolutely terrible manager to crash and burn with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, as that league has very poor competition in it. The one thing Leicester have over Liverpool is balance. Liverpool's squad is bent out of shape and it has made it much more difficult for Klopp to identify his preferred 11. Leicester have the inferior squad on paper, but their first 11 has been virtually unchanged, and almost every one of their players (bar maybe Mahrez and Schmeichel) is performing a level or two above their station. I don't know if it happened by design or luck, but Leicester have ended up with a bunch of footballers that suit the game they play perfectly. You could put some of those players in a different team with a different style and they wouldn't look half as effective. It really is the case of the sum being more than the parts. I don't think the current Liverpool squad is suited to the pressing game personally, a lot of them are lightweight. I feel like Klopp and Poch are similar in that they have a particular style that they believe is ultimately the best way to play. They then look for players to fit that style. Ranieri is coming from a different place - he's looked at the players he has, worked out the tactics that are most likely to work and then filled in the gaps. Poch has an advantage in that our academy has been working to produce versatile players with good basic skills, which meant that it's easier for him to mould them, and for them to slot into his approach. If they cannot adapt, he gets shot (Townsend, Lennon, Yedlin etc). Liverpool's academy hasn't worked in quite the same way, and they're currently running a year or so behind us (spunking the Suarez/Bale money, hiring a new manager). Liverpool's commercial revenue still far outstrips ours, so they are definitely in a position to continue spending on the team - even including Suarez's sale they net spend on average over 30M a season. I can see Klopp completely gutting the squad this summer. I'm just not convinced that he can turn it around in time for next year - although they may not have Europe to worry about. Are they qualifying via the League Cup? If they have less distractions next year I see no reason why he can't have them challenging for the Top 4 again, although it's getting pretty crowded now.

My H2H results this week: 55-55, 55-56, and 55-57.

Had a sneaking feeling West Ham would have a big game so played Valencia up front and Payet . Twat. That Aguero goal fucked me up too. Getting the captain right is soooo important. Captain Kane for the lose.

. How we didn't get at least one penalty today I'll never know.

Took Lukaku out this week as well. Arse.

Vardy's only just come back from injury hasn't he? I don't think he actually missed any Premier League games (?). Fair enough. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/35313650 This was a month ago, and includes Matty James, who's missed all of Leicester's season with a cruciate injury. They've been able to field a remarkably consistent line-up - another parallel with the 1981 Villa team.

Fucking up my FF now too .

Fully agree, but I reckon that would pale into comparison when compared to some of the s*** the 'big clubs' have pulled over the last 10 years. Yup. It's a weird mixture of pleasure and bitterness for me. There are definitely qualifiers you can apply - they do have a billionaire owner, their football is very straightforward (reminiscent of the "good" Villa under O'Neill, defend like crazy, attack on the break and with set-pieces), they have got the breaks (luck with injuries, generous reffing, minimal cup distractions) - but it's still a perfect example of what you can achieve with a clever manager and decent players. Your build a team to exploit your better players, and then introduce new players to slot into that team/squad. There truly are parallels with Clough's Forest, and I think also with Ron Saunders' Villa. I'm mainly bitter because we somehow managed to lose to them having pretty much p*ssed it .
-
It's a minority tbf. While I think everyone recognizes how valuable it is to have a midfielder that just keeps popping up in the right place to score (reminiscent of Lampard), I think the complaints are that he sometimes drifts out of games, and sometimes his naivety results in moves breaking down. I feel that Poch has noticed this and pushed him further forward to give him a bit more freedom, and it's paid off.
-
Yup, me too. Why?! He's one of the most obvious choices to play in the entire game, surely. Yeah, kinda, but he just keeps missing my cut . My midfield tonight was Payet, Ozil, Mahrez - all of whom I thought would get more points. Can't complain about 67 points with Lukaku © to come. Mind you, I hope he's missing, then it's captain Kane with Alli subbed on .

Didn't see anything tonight to change my mind.
