  1. Beer Sheva miss a pen . Should have been a free kick anyway.
  2. We've extorted tons of money from Hull over the years .
  3. Couple that with Chelsea. Per their wiki, their first team squad has 37 players listed...but they also have twenty-three players out on loan. Everything is shit forever.
  4. Yup, although if we'd won the Stadium it would be converted to a proper footy ground, while Crystal Palace would have become the national Athletics stadium. If we'd also got all the subsidies West Ham have, it would have been even more of an unfair advantage - we'd have made an absolute fortune selling our land for development etc. I am chuffed that we're staying at The Lane , although the whole process has been, and will continue to be, an almighty ballache. To the person who asked whether there are going to be "ends" - that's exactly the plan. One end is going to be a "Kop", with no tiers, just a continuous slope behind one of the goals.
  5. ...and yet again, I'm going to pop up and remind everyone that Spurs suggested doing exactly that, with a complete rebuild of the Crystal Palace complex. Of course, this may or may not have been a factor: https://insidecroydon.com/2014/10/15/lord-coes-company-behind-plans-to-bulldoze-athletics-stadium/
  6. So much shite in my team, but I just can't bring myself to pull the wildcard trigger.
  7. About as legitimate as Froggy's link, tbf.
  8. Yes, but can I remind you that it's Manchester United. Even if they were managed by Laura Trott, I know how I'd feel about them.
  9. There aren't many things that I really, really miss about the UK, but going to random lower league (sorry) games is high up the list.
  10. Leicester will be really good again this season. Odds just got better...
  11. You say it like it's a new thing .
  12. Did a head-to-head get set up?
  13. I like how the crossed hammers look a little bit like
  14. ...and that was worse than any last year?
  15. Nothing personal, Kanj, but I hate this attitude. It's why ESPN loves the Yankees and Red Sox, why we had a Big Four, why Barca and Real rake in spectacular TV deals etc etc. I'd much rather have the money spread out, and see each team shown an equal amount of times, even if it means having to endure Stoke v West Brom every once in a while. Sure, if they just featured Newcastle more, or had Man U on every week in the Premier League, then they'd get better ratings and more viewership. If you want that, then fine. Just don't complain when Man U then have an absolute shitpile of money, and spunk 100M a time on players. I hope that Sky have a similar deal to the old Premiership one, where every team gets shown a reasonable amount of times.
  16. Champions League though. Can't see them maintaining the same challenge this year.
  17. It will help Liverpool enormously too.
  18. Well to be fair, that's already one more than you guys managed against Fulham.
  19. Is the Beeb's summary page fucked for everyone else? Why can't they make it work consistently?
  20. This, really. You're still going to p*ss this league, but I would be a teensy bit worried about Rafa's starting choices. The first thing that struck me about that team sheet was how lightweight and small the attack seemed to be. There may not have been many options, but a bit of size and strength up front will make a hell of a difference. It doesn't even need to be a great player - look at Fulham yesterday. I suspect that Mitrovic will take the absolute p*ss out of the Championship. Your resources dwarf those of the other teams in the league, and I include even makeweights like Colback among those resources. You're going to be so much stronger when the fixtures start to pile up, and although it will probably take a few weeks to gel, today shows that you won't need to be amazing to do some damage. You should have at least drawn and probably should have won, despite half the team playing poorly and the ref being a comedian. The only danger is if every team raises its game against you, the home crowd loses its patience and turns on the players, and you get a host of injuries. The gulf between Premier League and Championship really is huge.
  21. Might have been a year ago. You want to go through all that again?
