That was everything a football show should be.

Not going to happen. Might go out on loan, but the consensus is that Hutton will go. Then we can choose between a slow RB who can defend and a fast one who can attack, according to the opposition.

Was just about to vote on the goals, then realised I was adding a few for Europe. Tee hee.

The pity is, if he wasn't such an utter cunt sometimes I'd really like him.
-
I'm on Fox Soccer. Trying to deal with a crying baby!
-
Was just about to say exactly what the commentator said there. Would have been a cracker.
-
What a fucking terrible refereeing decision that is.
-
Too many limited players on the fringes. The usual story.
-
Don't see enough headers like that any more. Mint.

Is everyone going to play this way next year?
-
Not a chance. Surely? The story is that one reason McLaren was removed from the running was a poor response from Villa fans, God knows how bad the response would be if McLeish got the job.

I am not worried about Liverpool. N'Zog would prefer us over them. Based on what? They do not have Euro football next season and they are unlikely to offer him lucrative terms after spending so many money on Henderson. p.s. I think the only way that prevents Liverpool from financial meltdown now is to secure a top 4 spot next season. That means they have to bypass Chelsea or Arsenal. Mission impossible. Fenway would not allow that to happen. Like City and Chelsea, they seem to have concluded that UEFA can stick financial fair play up their collective arse for all the good it will do them. Three sugar daddy clubs, plus two clubs with stratospheric matchday revenue - it's all rather depressing.

Despite their guy saying Spurs' was the only bid (so far)?
-
RW. Only place he can play. Interesting. Not seen much of him myself, and didn't see that bid coming (if it actually did, of course). There's a story that we'd not be too unhappy to lose VDV, or maybe 'arry's trying to upgrade on Lennon?
-
Replacement for VdV. You heard it here first. I heard it on Spurscommunity first, I'm afraid.
-
Isn't that a clear example of ensuring top flight with a few handy goals? No? I guess we're agreein to disagree there then.
-
Who would he replace? Sandro? Modric? Van Der Vaart?
-
I wondered if it had something to do with the fair play rules, but iirc they take into account this year's balance. It's mental, though as you and I know more than most, much of the stuff spouted is just made up.

Nobody's mentioned the obvious factor of the homegrown rule in inflating prices. Before last season started Liverpool were relying on untried kids to make up the numbers.
-
Aye, it doesn't make sense really. West Ham must have lost a lot of money for being relegated, they have the Olympic Stadium to worry about so where's the money coming from (especially when none of the players have been sold yet). Not much of a worry if you're being given a stadium and a wodge of taxpayers cash on top /bitterSpursfan
-
Who's that then? Suarez and your lad? Wacko, where's all this outlay coming from? Your accounts will look a bit scary after last year (no CL) then this (no Europe).
-
That's not a Dowie though, Dave. Lies? Completely made-up bullshit? Surely a Blatter.
-
I'd really like you to name them. Someone cited Carrick, Barry and Parker's wages earlier for comparison. Well, Man U could afford to take a bit of a punt on Carrick (and of course they kept Scholes and Giggs), Man City are on a different planet and West Ham seem to have lost their minds on wages a couple of years back. Everybody should now be cutting their cloth according to what they have coming in. To echo Neil from outside - the only indisputable fact is that Barton and Nolan were central to survival this year. I'd be looking for tweaks rather than major overhauls, and losing Barton (as well as Carroll) is on the side of 'major overhaul'. Nolan still has two years, so there's not a major rush. Barton is the bigger issue.

Clearly clubs have decided that the Financial Fair Play regulations will do absolutely fuck all. That's Chelsea, Man City and now Liverpool living in a fantasy land.
