This is the really interesting bit. Makes new contracts for Shola and Saylor more sensible. I suspect we will end up keeping Crouch (and King) for partly this reason. That's an element of why clubs like Liverpool and us play kids in the Europa.

You what? Carrick was a better spurs player than Modric? is this even serious? Carrick was good but luka is a different class. I see where HTT is coming from here. Our team revolved around Carrick in his last season before us, he was terrific. Modric is a better player, and integral to our team, but in a slightly different way. I'm just a bit pissed off that a newspaper has made a concerted effort to unsettle a player simply because he doesn't play for the new "Big Four". Initially the Mail were angling for Man City or Chelsea, then tried to get Man U in, then Chelsea make a bid. I'm kinda with kd here. If we can offload a couple of clowns, then somehow convince a shit-hot forward to take wages that are half the amount they'd receive at Man U, City, Arsenal or Chelsea (or Liverpool), then Modric will stay this year. If we're not in the CL next year, Modric is off.

Daily Mail have been working on this for a long time.

Looks like Ashley's gone down there to soak up the atmos (blue shirt, at the bottom). See what it's like from the other side.

According to the Sun, 5 year contract, 50K per week, transfer was 3.5M with an extra 0.5M if they come straight back up next season. The Sun Still, if it really is that length of contract it's a ballsy move. I'm hoping you guys don't get that extra 500K.

Genuine question - what is Wondolowski good at? I haven't seen much of him at all, but everything I've seen has been a bit pants.

Just checked out Newsnow for Spurs. As a conservative estimate, half the stories were simply made up. I really, really hate the close-season/summer/off season/cricket season/transfer window.
-
...and in particular how that relates to transfers. The deliberate, blatant attempts to unsettle players and ensure that they end up playing for Man U, Man C, Chelsea or Arsenal. Or Liverpool.

Intrigued by the 'surprise' thing - who would actually be a surprise departure (that we would care about)? Bruce, Gyan, Cattermole. Maybe Sessegnon.

I hope you said it to him really loudly, in the pub. That's a great line.

That was everything a football show should be.

Not going to happen. Might go out on loan, but the consensus is that Hutton will go. Then we can choose between a slow RB who can defend and a fast one who can attack, according to the opposition.

Was just about to vote on the goals, then realised I was adding a few for Europe. Tee hee.

The pity is, if he wasn't such an utter cunt sometimes I'd really like him.

I'm on Fox Soccer. Trying to deal with a crying baby!

Was just about to say exactly what the commentator said there. Would have been a cracker.

What a fucking terrible refereeing decision that is.

Too many limited players on the fringes. The usual story.

Don't see enough headers like that any more. Mint.

Is everyone going to play this way next year?
-
Not a chance. Surely? The story is that one reason McLaren was removed from the running was a poor response from Villa fans, God knows how bad the response would be if McLeish got the job.

I am not worried about Liverpool. N'Zog would prefer us over them. Based on what? They do not have Euro football next season and they are unlikely to offer him lucrative terms after spending so many money on Henderson. p.s. I think the only way that prevents Liverpool from financial meltdown now is to secure a top 4 spot next season. That means they have to bypass Chelsea or Arsenal. Mission impossible. Fenway would not allow that to happen. Like City and Chelsea, they seem to have concluded that UEFA can stick financial fair play up their collective arse for all the good it will do them. Three sugar daddy clubs, plus two clubs with stratospheric matchday revenue - it's all rather depressing.

Despite their guy saying Spurs' was the only bid (so far)?
-
RW. Only place he can play. Interesting. Not seen much of him myself, and didn't see that bid coming (if it actually did, of course). There's a story that we'd not be too unhappy to lose VDV, or maybe 'arry's trying to upgrade on Lennon?
