Wasnt really player ability that took us down last season was it, bit more to it.

Dont disagree with that much from the original post tbh. Prob would take a fair amount less for Guthrie/Enrique & more for Barton, before it was a no brainer. Doesnt seem that bizarre though. Quite a few of those players we may have a hard time replacing in terms of ability/potential ability any time soon. No point selling them.

Still saw weaknesses in his game this season, needs to be tested at a higher level once again. Wouldnt get rid of Taylor any time soon atall.

They all play for the money. Some will also be playing for the sport, to prove themselves in a profession they enjoy. Doesnt sound like hes bothered whether he wins anything at any point. Hes honest about his own ideas which is good to see, doesnt mean he represents everyone else.

Michael Owen. You think Carroll makes similar runs in the box as Owen for his headers? Big compliment if so, i think his runs are a big part he needs to work on and he mainly gets near it through strength. The opposite to Owen. He's held off two defenders at the same time a few times this season, thats a sign hes not that weak.

Because its so easy to be good in the air without much strength. You wouldnt get pushed off the ball or anything. Most of that is nonsense. See no reason to negatively judge the potential of a player who has shown a lot of improvement in part of his game in just the 2nd half of the season, he has ages of time to progress in other areas.

Beye, Bassong, Milner & Given is all i would want from the previous.

Birm against Villa was def a pen. He makes contact with the ball sure, but not enough to put it out of play. If he'd not taken out his legs, agbonlahor would've kept the ball.

Shola, Carroll, Loven, Nolan, Guti & Routledge will tear apart the prem.
