Townsend was nearly through first half if his first touch hadnt been too heavy. His goal though, superb. He's easily our most exciting player now, him & Anita combine well also. Darlow's save was superb, ground went nuts for that. You really believe when your keepers saving penos. Did everything we needed to get the 3 points & managed it. We made it hard for them & all they really had were corners as you'd expect. Townsends comments were spot on about the time wasting aswell. Who goes to a former club & time wastes from minute 10 when you're safe. Goal kicks taking minutes at a time, nuts. Fully deserved win. Should've made it two at the end really. Great day.

Just seen Barca's 6-0 win, talk about dodgy as fuck. Ref randomly gives them three penalties for literally nothing when they need goals to match Real Madrids GD? I mean you can have a poor ref performance, but he gave every key decision one way & made others up.

This this this. He could easily have cost us against Liverpool, he was not simply giving the ball away. They got in behind him over 5 times atleast. Darlow pulled off a save from Navas there a week earlier & he was destroyed by a simple dummy in the same game. He's not costing us because others are saving his bacon in some of these games. Other games he looks more assured & tends to get it behind for a corner. Its hardly consistant though.

He was poor yesterday. You cant say Milner got nowt out of him, as he put in a cross leading to the offside goal. There was Lallanas smash across the face from there & a cut back into the area. They constantly doubled up on Dummett, which says a lot given the opposite fullback isnt even a defender by trade. On the ball he kept giving it back to them or out for a throw in at one point. He was better the couple games before though, so perhaps tiredness.

Norwich arent done, they're equally in it. Their manager has kept them in this to an impressive degree. They lost Klose for the last two games, hes a big player for them. Is he still out?

I don't think it's as simple as that, just as palace and villa aren't nailed on for us. I think we need to concentrate on ourselves, make sure we win the next two and hope for the best. Those sides have been playing the trio of Arsenal, Man Utd & West Ham. Those sides were in form, they're not losing games against weaker opposition imo.

Far below the Swansea/Man City performances from our midfield & Dummett id say. The pressing wasnt there, they had time on the ball, endless crosses. Benitez positioning our players in a compact manner is pretty much what stopped it, because the second ball would always hit another of our players. It was rarely stopped by the first defender.

Surely Rafa will notice that performance. Mbabu was levels above in his couple of appearances, i wish he'd notice him.
