  1. Feel bad for Giroud, he's actually a very efficient striker when on his game & confident. He gets a bad rap.
  2. They could do with getting Payet on the ball a lot more

Against Germany it was Vardy & Kane, Barkley off them, Alli left & Henderson right in that diamond. I know its a friendly, but surely better to go off what we've actually seen than theoretical ideas of what will and wont work. We could have scored 3 against Germany in 20 minutes, we overran them. Work from that.

Because the theory behind Kane being upfront is so complicated that it needs explaining by Pardew & others. Everyones aware of the prevailing theory, its still debatable. Whats happened in the recent games doesnt even back it up. Two upfront obviously works, he'll probably try one and then shift it about.
  5. He played 90 minutes in almost every game this season and scored one goal That's below par for a defender, never mind an attacking midfielder. He is one of the biggest reasons (player wise) why we got relegated, calling him our best or second best player is laughable. Most assists this season, but that was too convenient to add to the arguement I guess. Feel free to name some names of better players in the squad though. People hate him due to his persona, I get it. I don't like him either. To say he is a s*** footballer though is just ridiculous and impressively contradictory as I assume many of his criticts are in the "trust in Rafa"-brigade - and Rafa made him captain of the team. Janmaat, Lascelles, Mbemba, Dummett, Townsend, Wijnaldum, Tiote and Mitrovic were all comfortably better, a few of those I'm not a fan of at all. I don't care one bit about his personality to be honest, he can say he wants to leave however much he wants, if he had performed on the pitch I would have been happy with him. Forget I asked. Lascelles, Dummett and Tiote ffs Keep telling yourselves that stats doesn't matter (besides goals), that he is spineless, arrogant, no end product, no technique as it clearly makes you feel less butthurt that he doesn't want to follow us down in the championship. His standard has still been woeful, thats just how bad we've been. He's been one of the less woeful ones. Wijnaldum was our top scorer, he was shite aswell. Sissoko puts in some good crosses & set up a few goals, he had a few bursts of pace where he went through on goal and side footed it against the keepers legs everytime. Thats getting us no where, but its slightly better than Colback not even getting near the keeper to side foot it against him yeah. So? You asked why he was made captain, clearly his mentality is a weak point & perhaps Rafa was trying to give him some motivation again. The guy doesnt care for the club atall, he wont fight for us & he is not efficient enough as a player to come across as if he's clearly above it all. We could shove Aarons there & have him do a better job for all we know. Janmaat was our best right back until Anita was put there, you could make a similar argument for him. And lascelles is better tbf.

    I reckon Hart for goalie
  7. He'd just be part English & part Turkish. You cant completely claim you're in no way affiliated with the country you were born in & grew up in.
  8. Missed about 4/5 one on ones this season for us, scored one goal. He can cross a ball decently, thats mostly it. He's premiership quality for a lower half team.
  9. Looks good whenever i watch him, poor guys had a succession of Pulis, Warnock & now Pardew as manager. Can barely hold down a starting place & finishes top scorer every season

In 140 mins upfront he's scored 3 goals, won a penalty & set up Alli for that sitter v Germany. Lets put him on the wing if we even start him, nuts.
  11. Was hearing on the radio they've told him he'll have 100 mill as a transfer budget if he goes to Everton, wage doubled.
  12. Why the dislike of Arbeloa? Seems a bit random
  13. He was one of the best for about one game.

Leicester topped the table as a side leaking goals at the back, the strong defence came much later in the season. Surely all Newcastle fans learnt the lesson of attack being the best form of defence watching Alan Pardews 20 men behind the ball 4-0 losses to southampton & friends.

Vardys numbers are better at just about everything. There is a bias against the lad for some reason. Kane's actually been quite quiet isolated upfront recently for us. Bar the offside goal, i cant think of many chances we've created for him?

Alli behind Kane & Vardy should be the first move if we're being serious about this atall. Those 3 could be dangerous against every defence in the tournament, two of them combine well & the other has scored in every England game he's played. Rooney upfront in the two if he plays, Alli still behind for me. Same with Sturridge, up front in the two. My concern is Vardy will get woefully underused as a sub here, when I think he can impact these games more than anyone else. But we have a really strong attack in general tbf if they are played in their strongest positions.

Roy man, lets take our best players and move literally all of them out of position. So youre just playing names ignoring the fact they didnt make their names playing there.
  18. Thats what I'd expect. Rooney will start the tournament, Vardy has to play also. Fit them both in & use Vardy's pace. I imagine it'll change during the tournament regardless, so hopefully it either works quickly or we adapt quickly.

    The Coaching Staff

The new Valencia boss was his number 2 at Liverpool Then Sammy Lee the season they came 2nd. Zendan at Chelsea apparently, which is different.
  20. If Sturridge was bang in form and fully fit, I'd start him with Kane. He's a better player than Vardy. As he's not fit, hasn't played in the recent friendlies and has had a mixed season on the whole, Vardy starts. He can still be a big asset off the bench though IMO, even if not 100% fit. Im gonna keep beating this drum. He's not a more dangerous player than Vardy. He has better technique, probably a better selection of shots & is more skillful yes. Defenders would fear playing Vardy more.
  21. We had Milner here long enough to know what he's about. A very steady and reliable performer who doesn't show up in big games. Sterling has been s**** this season for a team that should make it easy for him to look good. I know I'm biased but if I was going to pick one out of those two and Townsend to actually do something special in an international tournament it would be Townsend every time. Best case situation is Milner defends his wing, is sturdy & puts in a couple crosses that lead to goals. You'd think Townsends potential as someone who can affect a game independantly is much higher but yeah its not suprising is it.
  22. The Ross Barkley selection is the most debatable, Townsends been very unlucky. Roy obviously tries to show players loyalty so they'll repay him, surely picking the players highest in confidence & form is a better idea?

Drinkwater looks a bit overwhelmed by playing for England or something, not his usual ability
